Camping Moves His Goal Posts

"Harold Camping says May 21, 2011 was 'invisible judgment day,' world will end October 21, 2011

Radio evangelist Harold Camping said in a special broadcast Monday night on his radio program Open Forum that his predicted May 21, 2011 Rapture was “an invisible judgment day“ that he has come to understand as a spiritual, rather than physical event.

“We had all of our dates correct,” Camping insisted, clarifying that he now understands that Christ’s May 21 arrival was “a spiritual coming” ushering in the last five months before the final judgment and destruction.

In an hour and a half broadcast, Camping walked listeners through his numerological timeline, insisting that his teaching has not changed and that the world will still end on October 21, 2011.

“It wont be spiritual on October 21st,” Camping said, adding, “the world is going to be destroyed all together, but it will be very quick.”

Camping had previously pointed to October 21 as the last day on earth for all humanity."

Hey, what else is the guy going to say? And while his spiritual understanding of the May 21 event was in error, he's evidently got a better grasp on this special understanding of his, which is why we should trust his October 21 prediction. Got that people? Five months and counting, so prepare your comments (or just recycle your old ones) for this coming October. See you on the 22nd.

After that day, he might say that none of us were worthy.

Really, why do people trust these predictions?

That's not important though, what is important is that we really need to limit the first ammendment when is says "freedom of religion" because that guy made so many people lose their lives, jobs, families, etc. that it is not even funny.

I bet he's just sitting on the couch laughing while bathing in money.

I heard many of his followers emptied their bank accounts and gave the money away.

The saddest story I heard was people where putting their pets to sleep so not to leave them alone.

A lot of people were harmed by this, and instead of letting it drop and giving a reason to move on, he's causing another 5 months of problems.

I wonder how many people will follow on despite this. 80% would be my estimate. But I wish it were 0. If he fooled 'em once, he can fool 'em again. Foolish fools gettin' fooled by a foolish fool.

It's a shame they couldn't have spent "spiritual money" for this "spiritual judgement day".

The radio this morning mentioned an incident where a woman tried to kill her two children with a knife because she wanted to spare them from the experience of the rapture. The kids survived with minor injuries, apparently.
