Booko said:We used to call that "playing doctor" and it was seen for what it is -- a natural curiousity about the body differences between boys and girls. And parents explained that it was inappropriate to do that sort of thing and that was the end of it. Honestly!
I agree Sharon. This is NOT a big deal. Like honestly, is there no end to this kind of drivel? I agree that the fuss caused over this innocent incident could well be far more traumatic than the titillating event itself. Kids will be kids. Why is it that adults have to act like children too?Booko said:
This reminds me of the celebrated case of the six year old boy accused of "sexual harassment" because he kissed a classmate. When I was a kid, that would've been called "cute."
Indeed it is a brave new world when four year olds get accused of molestation.comprehend said:what a brave new world we live in...
Ðanisty said:This is ridiculous. Like Becky said, children play in order to understand reality. They have no idea that something like this is inappropriate until you tell them. Even if the girl did cry, it doesn't make it abuse. Sometimes, little girls will cry if you just touch them on the arm!
turk179 said:Thats right! Turk has come out of RF retirement to ask this burning question. Let me set up the scenario for you.
So I am sitting here, watching E.R. when there is a break in the show to promote the 10 P.M. news. This is what I heard. "A 4 year old molests another 4 year old at a day care center." and "this is a bigger problem than was once thought."
So I am sitting there wondering if something with no feelings or knowledge of sexuality can molest something else with no feelings or knowledge of sexuality.
The nature of what they called "abuse" was described in detail but basically it all comes down to the fondling of a little girls private parts by a little boy.
So what do you all think?
nutshell said:There is no "molestation" going on, but the parents need to be quizzed because the children (or at least the one instigating it) are imitating behavior they have seen elsewhere.
I really believe that this was much more innocent than that (a "lets see whats behind door #2 type situation") but if what you say is true than an investigation might be in order, for a child that age should not have any knowledge of sexuality of that nature. But I highly doubt an investigation is in order.nutshell said:There is no "molestation" going on, but the parents need to be quizzed because the children (or at least the one instigating it) are imitating behavior they have seen elsewhere.
Sunstone! Are you crazy?! You can't send a four year old to prison! How could you even suggest that. We would have to lower all the sinks and toilets. The picnic tables would have to be lowered as well. Not to mention all of the nap time play mats that would have to be purchased. This would cost the tax payers millions.Sunstone said:I feel it's one thing when an adult becomes a pedophile. But it's entirely another when a four year old already shows signs of becoming a pedophile. When they start that young, there's no turning back. Hence, I shall not rest until that pedophile is tried and incarcerated. Ten years is too good for him. Give him twenty, I say!
xexon said:No. To molest is defined by intent.
4 year olds have no intent other than curiosity. They just want to learn about what they see around them. They haven't attached a moral value to things yet.

I suggest sending these evil little deviants to the Marines. :slap:
OH brother! I say that aide is going to have a troubled career with children. Kids do odd things and it doesn't mean a thing other than an opportunity to teach. She merely should have told the boy that was unappropriate behavior.lilithu said:Hey Turk, can a 4-yr old molest an adult? Enquiring minds want to know!
So I was trying to get info on your story and found this instead:

What adult in their right mind could possibly think for one second that a 4 year old could ...... I can't think of a darned thing to say......... I'll give up trying......lilithu said:Hey Turk, can a 4-yr old molest an adult? Enquiring minds want to know!

Sunstone, it's obvious that are just throwing around the accusation to hide your own lily-livered liberalness. 20 years in prison, you say? C'mon! You know what the recidivism rate is for sexual deviants! They can't be cured! Just like a tax-and-spend liberal to waste the tax-payers money. It's obvious what needs to be done. < snip snip> You're just not willing to admit it, you spineless bleeding heart.Sunstone said:It's bleeding heart liberals like you, Turk, who are largely responsible for the soaring rate of pedophile toddlers. Sure, kids are cute at that age, but cute is no reason to coodle the little fiends when they turn to a life of crime. I'm holding out for prison or church camp.
