Can God be reasoned with?

For instance, when, no IF (correction made after Gjallarhorn's brilliant observation), I meet him on the Day of Resurrection, can I tell him -

"God...I really really wanted to believe in you but all your so-called prophets and books never really made any impact on me whatsoever. I tried real hard but I died without any belief in your existence at all. Would you agree that you could have made yourself more obvious to me instead of hiding behind some 7th century holy book and declaring that that book would be your final revelation for all of humankind until the Day of Resurrection?

I was born in the 20th century and nearly everything was explained by science. Please believe me when I say I tried to believe in you but it was impossible. Can you spare me from eternal hellfire?"

How do you think God will respond, if he exists?

You. God has all the knowledge in the world to leverage, after all.

Sure...but my argument is very simple.

I have found no evidence of his existence [especially via the big "holy books" - Quran, OT/NT, etc.] Which piece of evidence would God say I misinterpreted?

I don't know; I am not God.

I think God would say.......I don't care if you believed in me. Lets talk about your heart and how you lead your life.

When you say reason do you mean your trying to explain to him why he should let you into heaven? If so I doubt he'll believe you even "tried that hard" to believe in him, and you won't be able to "reason with him." And if you end up talking with him then you'll know he exists, and any argument you make would look a little silly.

I don’t think there will be any legitimate excuses.

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse…Romans 1;20

And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. Hebrews 4:13

But why will he not believe what I tell him I tried hard? I am dead serious when I say I see no proof of the Abrahamic God (assuming you are batting for him).

Ya..but the first-cause argument has been quite thoroughly rebutted on many logical grounds. Does your God expect that its followers should suspend logic and believe in him against logic?

Because he gave us his word(the bible) which tells us about him. I mean are you just going to tell him that you chose not to believe it? What type of "proof" would you want?

Proof would be direct perception - something that impinges on the senses.

YOU say his word is the Bible. Muslims say his word is the Quran. Hindus say his word is the Veda, etc.

Which is his word?

Can I for instance tell your God this on the Day of Judgement:

Personally, I believe the laws of logic originate from God and are evidence of His existence. So no, I don’t think He wants us to set reason and logic aside, nor I think the first-cause argument has been fully refuted.
