I read where one of the mods is a Unitarian Universalist, I had to google it to find out, but I think that could be, at least partly what I am now. I say now in case you haven't read somewhere I fell from christianity (well, decided it had too many flaws to be from an ALL knowing God. I sure didn't like the idea of a god that would mess with my head, don't I have enough problems? I'm sure my friends would agree:help:

Ok, so the main reason I am here, is to find something to hold on to. I don't care who gives me their opinions, beliefs, etc. I need help, and I am asking those that might read this, and actually have a loving heart to help me in sharing their search perhaps.

Lastnight, I checked in on my Facebook page, and I am ready to delete my account because of something I saw. It was the most graphic video, that wouldn't stop by the way, ran automatically, so you are forced to search for a way to close it fast, but I wasn't fast enough. Yes I am an animals lover, probably more than I love people. Someone made a video of their "buddy" kicking a dog to death, I was so horrified I could not sleep until I finally cried my self into exhaustion.

This world is beyond horrific, and there seems to be little to protect innocent beings from horrific acts. Another reason I cannot believe there is a loving god somewhere watching all this. If there is "it" doesn't seem to give a damn about those that cannot protect themselves.

The bible and it's followers always have an answer, like "god wants us to fix these things". How do we do that. Some have ways and means to search out and nail these "creatures" that should get what they have coming. And when they do get caught, the animal or person/child, can never be brought back, and if they can, they will never recover from the abuse.

I am sick this a.m., sick in my heart to be reminded of the atrocities that go on around my cushy, protected life.

Lastnight, I checked in on my Facebook page, and I am ready to delete my account because of something I saw. You should report it. Abuse of non-human animals in that fashion is illegal. And morons who post their dishonorable conduct on $#@%book should be fully entitled to rot in a jail cell or pay a nice fine for their lack of vision. The authorities can and do use that as evidence to convict criminals. And this is a crime.

As an aside, this sort of behavior will never stop. There are always going to be things other creatures do in this world that you disagree with or label as horrifying. I find it a much wiser policy to not waste my energy being upset about it and accept reality for what it is. If something genuinely bothers me, I'll take action if I'm willing to accept the consequences of those actions. But stewing around whining about perceived injustices in the world accomplishes little aside from messing up your own mind. Act in accord to your vision of honor and virtue, or let it go. There are better things more worthy of your time. Be that which you want to see in the realm, and fuss less about what other people are doing.

I found the info, the gal (my friend) that posted it have a couple of different agencies we can "try" but the information was very down, heartening. It gave a lot of excuses as to why it is usually impossible to track these scum down. I don't think enough people care, enough to focus on a "cure", sort of like cancer

It was a joke, but it's a popular discussion forum. Some of the members are quite computer savvy and not particularly fond of people who are cruel to animals.

Quintessence earlier in the thread gave some sound advice.

Might be good to close your facebook and don't watch the news (this is easy for me to say as I don't use facebook and rarely watch the news). News seems to remind us a lot of the things we can't change. Makes us feel impotent. You should try to focus on the things you can change and change them. Always good to give money to the beggar and the homeless. The other lesson I have learnt is that a group is stronger than an individual and can achieve far greater change. So joining a group with similar views as your own could be a first step.

Why would anyone want to share such video on their facebook page? Also, people who heinously abuse animals deserve to suffer the same treatment and fate that they've dealt. How could you be proud about harming or killing a defenseless animal, especially one that is as loyal and loving as a dog?

They're psychopaths. You wouldn't believe some of the extreme animal cruelty videos that are out there. Crush videos, for example. That's an actual sexual fetish that some people will pay to indulge.
