If I were as dumb an ox, I would swallow too, but I keep myself informed.
If more people did that they would save themselves unnecessary problems, and put a dent in these pharmaceutical companies.

Just today I was appalled at the stupidity of some physicians.
Imagine prescribing a painkiller for a "mild ache and slight discomfort"... and some antibiotics to go with it too... which had nothing at all to do with the 'problem'.
Man, that prescription got treated with a Kareem Abdul Jabar.

It's so sad that people continue to hold on to this religion called Scientism.... even though time and time again they discover.... Key Word... let me say it again... Discover that what they thought - their orthodox view - needed to be adjusted, and new understandings applied.
There are many types of alternative treatments ... that might have different effects and have not yet been well studied. Importantly, this study did not examine the interaction of conventional and alternative treatments (which in some cases may cause problems).

As knowledge increases, and "unpopular" methods are tried, those not stuck in the "Orthodox Box" become advanced, while the others stay behind.

What should we call a person who never learns that fact, and persists in backwards thinking. No name calling.

Take bloodless medicine for example.
The cry was,

"If you do not take a blood transfusion, you will die."

Could you imagine how far advanced man could be if they tried the things that they put little or no research into?

That is disparaging the ox, and false too, as they 'know better' than most humans because they stick to the diet given by God in the Bible Gen 1:29

Humans who would have stuck to this diet of God, the perfect diet, would 'never' need worldly doctors, as they would have God's Grace as their doctor

Very True and demonic (as they know and are fully aware what they do, just to get their commission) act of Big Pharma doctors.

If people would have followed true doctors advice instead of Big Pharma doctors advice, they would have been much healthier.

True advice would be "let food be your medicine". Something Big Pharma rather not tell you, because they might lose you as their regular customer...the 'cow' they want to milk

IF I read such facts it does make me wonder...many things...can I trust Big Pharma? Do you?

Some thoughts that pop up are:
1) Big Pharma won't be happy if (alternative) doctors find a cheap way to cure cancer
2) Big Pharma will go to great length to make sure these doctors shut up

I am curious how others view Big Pharma and what other health options you have/use:
Do you trust Big Pharma (with your health)? Or not? Is B.P your first option or not?
Do you rather use alternative medicines (B.P drugs are know for their neg. side effects)?
Which other health systems do you use and or prefer? Did they solve it better than B.P would have?

I reject your understanding of Big Pharma as the only relevant part of health for actual drugs. They are a part of it, but not the only player.

Hmmm, well my uncle was diagnosed with colon cancer about two years ago. He's a died-in-the-wool "naturalist" (and a born-again Christian). So he decided he wasn't going to go with modern medicine. He decided instead, to go with "natural" and "alternative" remedies. (One of those natural remedies involved diluting hydrogen peroxide and injecting it into his body and also drinking it.) Well, one year and tens of thousands of dollars later, turns out his tumour had grown much larger. But that didn't stop him. He doubled down on the alternative remedies. He spent even more money. He had his entire church praying for his recovery, every single week, without fail. Guess what? The tumour grew even bigger. So, faced with his seemingly imminent demise, he decided to go through chemotherapy and have surgery to remove the tumour. Two years later, he's cancer-free and in debt for about a hundred thousand dollars that he spent on "natural cures." (I live in Canada so he did not have to pay out-of-pocket for the medical treatments he received.)

My point is that the "natural" remedy business is a also a money-making business. A LOT of money. Like a multi-billion dollar business. And they make a lot of false promises that they can't back up. So let's stop pretending that nobody is profiting off these untested, unverified herbal/natural remedies that oftentimes are sold as "cures" for whatever ails you (aka snake oil).

Very true. Too bad that Big Pharma tries to eliminate other forms of medicine; esp. those that have proven their effectiveness for millennia already. And I think it's courageous that J.W. stick to their "no blood transfusions". And interesting facts came out of this; science was wrong about it and could be humbled to accept another way to work without blood transfusions. First time I heard about this was on RF. Good to know, because I don't want blood transfusions.
