Self indulgence, as noted. The root of
evil.
self indulgence is necessary to a certain level. self has needs. one can abuse and neglect self. the ideal is in balance and not extremes

Love of self at the expense of the well being of others is not love. It's just selfishness pretending to be love.
so you "believe" the one who takes advantage of others has hatred for self too?

Self indulgence is a form of love?
You can't get more self infulgent than
some of our "spititual" people and their single
minded inner quest.

Some love that is
everyone is a spiritual being, mental being. some prefer the negative path. the lack of conscience, or ignoring the conscience, is still a mental/spiritual choice.

are you a dualist?

So your idea of a response is to state
irrelevant opinions as fact?

neither Russia nor China support communism as their economic system. Both have largely embraced Capitalism. however both maintain centralised authority over the economy and industry. This is not much different to the USA which controls industry and investment in many ways including the "entity list system" which has caused billions of losses to the "Chip" industry.

Religion is nominally free in the west, and has from the earliest days tried to control the moral and ethical face of society. it has been an essential tool of the establishment, with fingers in every pie.

Governments in the west also control Finance and industry through laws, government departments and central banks. there is very little real difference between the two systems. they would be largely interchangeable.
I don't need lessons on the Socialist republics.

StIll less on China.

" True" socialism is argued over like Christians
arguing what's the True church so dont bother
telling me whats what.

To say religion is " nominally" free in the West is to
show a misunderstanding of what " nominal"
means.

The notion that socialist and capitalist systems are
essentially the same - is that really what yiu are saying?-
is new to me.
Would be to a lot of people.

Tell our radical socialists here about it!
It might help with their blood pressure.

Spiritually is capitalism a service to self type, or negative spirituality, or is it serve to all as self, positive type spirituality?
I think spirituality helps optimize capitalism, since old fashion morality, makes people think in terms of the needs of the team; good customer and business owner rapport. Relative morality, which places the subjective whims of the ego first, makes too many different conflicting rules, causing capitalism to become less than optimized; greed and buying compulsion. Greed is one of the deadly sins and discouraged by many forms of spirituality. While maintaining a good and honest business to serve the community is a virtue; helps the team.

you don't believe everyone has a mental capacity and the synonym for mental is spiritual?
spiritual is not necessarily positive as you have noted. none of this is personal.

especially when someone ignores their conscience and has one rule for self and another rule for other.

the word for two standards, or double standard, is hypocrisy

Taking care of needs is not indulgence.
so then you agree that love of self is a necessity. thank you indulgence is not a synonym for excess. that would be overindulgence

being mentally/spiritually intune with all needs would optimimize capitalism. i can agree. using the power of capitalism to meet all needs.

your statement reminded me of plato's allegory of the chariot

the idea is on meeting all the needs of the community and not so much on profit in your scenario. the mind can't focus on two things at once. so you've hinted that the difference is between focusing on the hoarding of resources vs the focus on meeting needs.

You are just making up invidious garbage.
I cleared everyone from " ignore" a bit ago.
I'm reminded why you were there.

we all tend to think that we know more about our homelands than other people. However that is rarely the only perspective.
Nominal means "existing in name only. Much like freedom in all countries. Religion both for and against is subject to social pressures, from both families, employment and social acceptance. the laws forcing church attendance might be long gone. but in some localities the social pressure of social acceptance, to do so, is massive. Just as is the pressure against joining the "wrong" church. the proportion of members of religions that could be described as "nominal" is probably greater than actual "Believers".

As for Socialism. the definition itself seems to reflect more on the indoctrination of the person doing the judging than the actual degree of socialism involved. in the USA Socialism seems to be used as a dirty word, or entails an unthinking knee jerk reaction against every possible aspect of it. The Chinese and Russian political aspects of Socialism are rarely seen to be beneficial to the people. but more a means of their control.

Whereas in European countries it is the equality, and wide range of social benefits, and insurance aspects, that are emphasised.

None of that is contrary to what I said.

But feel free to think you know more about
China than I do.
I won't bother challenging you.
