"Care for one's own salvation is the personal concern of the individual."Agree or disagree?
Salvation is a gift. You either have it or you don't.
We aren't instructed to "care for" our salvation but to "WORK OUT our own salvation with fear and trembling" .. the fear and trembling is just to remind us to be SURE we have that salvation. That our faith is in the right place (the right One..)
What needs care is our soul, which yes we are to pay attention to and grow with spiritual food.
And what if said way is Catholicism?Salvation is a free gift of Grace. Our purpose in life is spiritual growth, wholeness, and continuing on the Way that Jesus prepares for us. We are saved by Jesus already.
Well, if one cannot lose one's salvation it would follow that spiritual growth (yet alone avoiding sin) is optional at best. What do we do with our lives? How do we live to the fullest, knowing that Jesus already decided to save us?
