Catholic answers to protestant questions

You know those statements protestants make about how Catholics don't follow the bible and how they take the quotes out of context and all that. How do Catholics justify these?
I once heard a protestant say that the reason Catholics are oppossed to abortion, is because they live on the fetuses. Okay that was a lie, but it made you giggle a bit.

I would say it depends on the quote. But, then again, Catholics say the same thing about Protestants too. When it comes to the bible we both think the other side is misusing, misquoting, misrepresenting, taking out of context etc. I personally try to avoid proof texting and throwing verses back and forth, that never really works. In a lot of ways we simply look at the bible in differently (sola scriptura vs bible and tradition).

That is supposed to be a closely guarded secret, but now that the cat is out of the bag...

Wait, that doesn't make sense. If we lived on fetuses we should be for abortion so we could have more, right?

We are reading through some of the letters of Abbot Boniface Wimmer, the first Benedictine monk in the U.S., right now and in some of those letters he writes that local Protestants (in Pennsylvania) are told that Catholic priests have horns and tails and such. He writes that when he comes across some of these folks he literally had to show them that he was hornless and tailless.

lol thats great. The protestants will mock you by saying that you don't read the bible.
Catholics also like to take the fetus out of the womb themselves, makes it more fresh.
