Catholic Dioceses Investigate Their Role in Boarding Schools for Native Americans

Beginning their investigation? What does that mean?

Plus isn't this like 'scouts honor' with having a crooked institution to determine if it's guilty or not? How does that work?

If they do find out more, will people take them at their word?
Can't read the story. There is paywall there. So I can't comment on the story.

However, it is a real dishonor on all the religious institutions that did this to the indigenous peoples.

It seems pretty clear that the Church is motivated to protect its institutional image more than any considerations of morality, compassion, or just doing what's right. They have a long and demonstrated track record of this failure. If they want to earn back any shreds of trust with anyone, they could start here. They certainly have their work cut out for them.

Hopefully the proper authorities won't be satisfied with the Catholic church doing their own internal investigations.

More horror stories will be unearthed.

Whenever adults are put in charge of children that are not their parents, the pedophiles will be the first in line for the job. Followed by the sociopaths and miscellaneous tyrants. It's a lesson we never seem to learn as a society. I predict tat in a few years we will be hearing the horror stories of those child detainees under the Trump administration. Because you know every pedophile and psychopathic Trump-tard in the country was running to sign up for that job.

The WSJ has a paywall but found info here
Bishops encourage cooperation to address Church's past in tribal schools - Our Sunday Visitor (osvnews.com)
In a Nov. 8 letter addressed to all U.S. bishops, Archbishop Paul S. Coakley of Oklahoma City, who is chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Domestic Justice and Human Development, and Bishop James S. Wall of Gallup, New Mexico, chair of the USCCB’s Subcommittee on Native American Affairs, told prelates that “if the government asks for any records you may possess, we encourage cooperation.”

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Here are accounts by natives who actually were in the Catholic boarding schools and told how they were treated inside these institutions as well as a piece regarding the missing and dead children within these organizations.

About a 20 minute piece worth watching I think....

The surviving children, now adults, would make far better investigators than the Catholic Church imo.

In addition, more horrible accounts are told including intentional murder, rape of children at the hands of Catholic boarding school faculty.

As told by Native Americans who were actually there as children....

This one is told pretty graphically what was done to them including mass graves in the US.....

About 6 minutes....
