Catholics what do you think about Democrat Gretchen Whitmer's Doritos stunt mocking Catholics?

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Now of course she has apologized which is typical of someone who has been called out but I think it exposes her true feelings about religious practices.

I watched the video and it is the most narcissistic self-asorbed thing I've ever seen and they both look like absolute retards while doing it.

I'm not Catholic but this looks pretty typical for people like that and I don't think it was deserved at all because it wasn't even funny in the least.

Sign of the modern day I guess but I'm sure most Catholics will practice forgiveness and all that which makes religious far better people than me because I'm still puking in the toilet after watching it.

A long time ago Australians learned that authority is ultimately human and fallible, hence shouldn't be taken so seriously to the point where they can't even be mocked.

Imagine being in a theocratic hole where mockery of authorities is enough to get you persecuted out of public office.

Now imagine there were non-religious people so deranged with nationalistic fervour that they unwittingly supported such theocratic tendencies.

Oh wait - you don't have to imagine it - you live in the U.S in my view.

Democrats have harmed Catholicism in much more devastating ways.
This is just a ridiculous thing that doesn't affect me at all.

Rumors say it was a DEMOCRAT that pushed for Pope Benedict's resignation in 2013. And for the election of a much more "liberal" pope.
If it were true, it would mean that democrats have been doing nothing but trashing Catholicism for ages. ;)

And by the way...I appreciate honesty, not phoniness. There are lots of DEM politicians who are Satanists but hide like mice and won't say it openly. They should confess and liberate themselves. ;)

One gets the sense of someone living in a cave without mirrors and embracing Trump's penchant for idiotic hyperbole.

And, yes, the Whitmer video was deeply obnoxious and insulting. I am glad that she has apologized. At the same time, watching a MAGA supporter feign disgust at mockery is to watch a masters class in rank hypocrisy.

As a Catholic church attender it doesn't bother me at all. In the first place we for the most part receive standing not kneeling and secondly especially after COVID, the host is placed in our hands not our mouths any more. Lastly it is a blessed host not a Dorido chip. To be honest the first I saw the video was with out context and I thought nothing of it. It was until I saw the comments I said Oh I can see the similarity.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.

I think she's an idiot and I don't care what she does.

By the way, I had a dream the other night, right before this broke, and a woman saying "Whitmer, Whitmer, Whitmer" over and over again was alarming me for some weird reason. Later that day I read about this and thought to myself, "Wow!"

Yeah, it wasn't the cleverest video in the world and she apologised. What about all the rubbish coming form the 'other side'. Hypocrites

You know what makes me puke is thinking that these Fox like people and there viewers (Puke) can even hold a candle to what Mitchen stands for.

If you think that video was more offensive then modern day patriarchal religions, then all godly power to you.

What do I think? I think catholics and every other religion should be willing to be mocked to the cows come home. They're big and ugly enough to take it on the chin..............aren't they?

Receiving communion while kneeling and on the tongue is the traditional way to do it. I used to always receive it in the tongue, myself. Churches are actually bringing that back. The last parish I went to was starting to encourage the traditional way, as it is more proper and reverent.

Our churches have been encouraging taking by the hand. I have only been to weddings where the wedded couple and only them would get the host by kneeling. I guess different areas do things differently.
