Cats....All About Cats

We have 10 Persian cats and they do not ever get topical flea treatments. We have been using Fleabusters for 20 years. They go outdoors in a fenced yard and not one flea. This is one product that really works the way it says it does. It might not be worth the bother if you only have one or two cats but we used to have more than 10, although we are now down to 10. ;)
Do any of your cats drive or mow the lawn?
Do you?
What is the safety record?

Ours also lives a fairly slow, sedate lifestyle which has earned her the name "Ploddypuss"

That's a good name.
If I try to get our ploddypuss to play it's me that gets the workout. He mainly just looks at me seemingly saying "What's the matter with you?"

Doesn't work so well on marble or wood floors, so i am afraid it's a no go for us.

Oh, now you've done it.

Ours is a rescue cat who must have had a horrendous life before we got her. Lovely, mild tempered (except at spot on time) but she was (still is) afraid of feet and cautious of anything that involved interaction with people. We coaxed her gently for 5 years before we got the first purr out of her (i cried when i heard her). We can now manage about 10 minutes quality time per evening with her then she scuttles away. But that 10 minutes is wonderful.

Ahe hasn't asked for a car, (unlike the twins who can legally drive a VSP next year).

We don't have a lawn.

I drive but don't mow the lawn

My safety record, driving, is 100%, (up to now). And for car driving our cat also has a 100% safety record.

It is true that it works much better in carpeted homes, but we had tile and aggregate stone floors in the old house and it worked when applied correctly in the baseboards. We had the company do the application.

Our lounge is 14x6 metres tiled, thats a lot of area that cannot be protected. And of course although she likes her comfort, as all cats do, she also spends time outside. We need protection for her.

Since you only have one cat, topical flea treatments are okay as long as they are safe and effective. I well know what fleas can do to a cat so they need to be protected.

Apart from the feet thing, that's just like one of ours: not socialised, rubbish previous home, timid, didn't purr and generally stand-offish. But when he's in the mood (about 10 minutes a day)...

We use 3 different types of flea treatment on the vets advice after one stopped working on a previous cat . Changing every year seems to be effective

I'm am glad that is working for you. The one Flea-busters treatment had held for 10 years, but that is probably because we hardly ever vacuum. That used to be my husband's job, but so was mowing the lawn.

Calico Kitty is getting less skittish around us.
I toyed with renaming him/her "Toonces".

I kind of like Calico Kitty

But, here's a thought

After we lost a cat to a speeding car last year the name "Cooking Fat" is going free,

Nova, the cat in my Avatar, who we got last January, is about three years old. He was raised in a cattery so he was really skittish, but he is getting better over time... The other night he even came up on the bed and stayed there for a while, till another cat showed up.
