I am doing the frubal stomp here because I so want to frubal you, Jgallandt, for your posts in this thread and it won't let me!

I agree with you completely! The Bible makes it clear that God knows what is in our hearts and we will be judged accordingly. God knows that when I put up a Christmas tree it has nothing to do with worshipping the tree. When we go to church on Christmas day, we are worshipping Him...not a golden idol. When we give presents, it is out of joy and love. It's fun to do, gives pleasure to the other person, and is harmless.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you! :D

The maker of this thread appears to be Pentecostal or the such. That is how I was raised. Holidays were not a thing to be celebrated. I heard that God did not like holidays, that the Roman Catholics had created most holidays, and so on and so on....
Even if they did, who cares. Holidays bring families together. They make you cheerful, if only for that day. What does it hurt a child to hunt easter eggs or a child to decorate a tree. No one is praising the tree. People know that God is not the tree. Holidays are a time for celebration and giving, as anyday should be, but, lol, that is just not how things are. So yea, nothing is wrong with it as long as it does not become God to you....

Joh 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

What part of the truth is this topic ?

Mark 7:6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Since everything here is the precepts of man! How can you deny that the Messiah was not speaking directly TO YOU?

What you call Jewish Holy Days are really the Moedim of Y H V H/Gods' appointed times. He hasn't cancelled them and sanctified Christian holidays.

As many encyclopedias clearly state, Jesus’ birthday was arbitrarily set as December 25 to coincide with a Roman pagan festival. Note the following declarations taken from different reference works:

"The date of Christ’s birth is not known. The Gospels indicate neither the day nor the month."—New Catholic Encyclopedia, Volume III, page 656.

"Most of the Christmas customs now prevailing in Europe, or recorded from former times, are not genuine Christian customs, but heathen customs which have been absorbed or tolerated by the Church. . . . The Saturnalia in Rome provided the model for most of the merry customs of the Christmas time."—Encyclopædia of Religion and Ethics (Edinburgh, 1910), edited by James Hastings, Volume III, pages 608-9.

"Christmas has been celebrated on December 25 in all Christian churches since the fourth century. At that time, this was the date of the pagan winter-solstice festival called the ‘Birth (Latin, natale) of the Sun,’ since the sun appeared to be reborn as the days once again became longer. In Rome, the Church adopted this extremely popular custom . . . by giving it a new meaning."—Encyclopædia Universalis, 1968, (French) Volume 19, page 1375.

"The development of the Christmas festival was influenced by the contrast with the pagan celebrations of the Sol Invictus (Mithra). On the other hand, December 25, being the day of the winter solstice, was identified with the light that broke forth into the world through Christ, and the symbolism of the Sol Invictus was thus transferred to Christ."—Brockhaus Enzyklopädie, (German) Volume 20, page 125.

When learning the facts about Christmas, how have some reacted? The Encyclopædia Britannica observes: "In 1644 the English puritans forbad any merriment or religious services by act of Parliament, on the ground that it [Christmas] was a heathen festival, and ordered it to be kept as a fast. Charles II revived the feast, but the Scots adhered to the Puritan view." The early Christians did not celebrate Christmas, oh dear i wonder what the true God thinks of all that:tsk: mixing true with false
"What sharing do righteousness and lawlessness have? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness? Further, what harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what portion does a faithful person have with an unbeliever? And what agreement does God’s temple have with idols? For we are a temple of a living God; just as God said: ‘I shall reside among them . . . ’ ‘"Therefore get out from among them, and separate yourselves," says Jehovah, "and quit touching the unclean thing,"’; ‘"and I will take you in."’"—2 Cor. 6:14-17
