I like the idea of city chakras, energy centers , and crystal programming, and name poetry. Eg you go to Sea Bright, New Jersey, by the sea, on a sunny day. And program a crystal with glowing intentions. Then that crystal has Sea Bright sunny day energy - you pop it into a velvet bag to hold the energy, and send to a friend.

Yes I think Vinyaka above is correct.. when you meditate with your eyes half closed focus on the third eye...

In wakefulness the eye of man sees at the utmost as far as one hour of distance, because through the instrumentality of the body the power of the spirit is thus determined; but with the inner sight and the mental eye it sees America, and it can perceive that which is there, and discover the conditions of things and organize affairs.

Not the same thing. The third eye isn't the mental eye, it's mystical. What Baha'u'llah is referring to is the study of books, speaking with people, to develop a deeper understanding through some insight.

In mystic Hinduism, the third eye gets inner light through it, can see auras on people, and more mystical stuff. It's the connector to a range of siddhis (psychic abilities). This is just another case of Baha'i's misunderstanding something from an older religion, and claiming to be the same thing. By comparing descriptions from both faiths, one can easily see they're not the same thing. But that's fine.

From my understanding, the Ajna Chakra is generally believed to be located just above the eyebrows, i.e. where Hindus place there bindi. However, the Ajna Chakra can also manifest physically, higher up on the forehead as a raised inverted triangle, just below the hairline.

The sixth chakra known as the Ajna in Sanskrit is located directly behind the third eye. The third eye is an extension of this chakra and rules the psychic sight. This chakra is the psychic seat of the soul. When the pineal gland within is activated, it will often light up brilliantly, flooding the head with white light, bringing an intense state of extreme bliss along with it. When the pineal is activated, it swells and there is a feeling of pressure about the size of a grape. The sixth chakra rules over the eyes, both the physical and astral vision, and the pineal gland. It is violet-blue/indigo in color, its element is the ether. Its metal is silver, and its and its planet is the Moon. This chakra is where the ida and pingala meet. It contains the all-important pineal gland and is the psychic seat of the soul. In some workings, energy is directed up the spine to the sixth chakra and projected out the third eye, as seen in many Egyptian hieroglyphs.

Yes The third eye contains the last of the three knots. Once this knot is open and energy flows through, the crown chakra is easy to open. The third eye contains the astral sight. Through the third eye, astral images are transferred to the brain. The third eye is also important in telepathy and influencing others uwu
