Charlie Hebdo cartoon on dead Syrian child sparks anger

I would rather live in a country where I can say what I want, than live in a country where freedom of speech is restricted; just in case I offend someone. I'll never support the position that someone's right not to be offended trumps another persons freedom of speech.
I'd rather live in a moderate sheria ruled african country where I can walk alone at early in the morning without any problem.Freedom of speech? Himmm, freedom of movement is what I need more.

There is absolutely freedom of speech in South africa but you cannot walk even daytime.

I don't follow The Donald, so I don't know the quote to which you refer.
As for pressure to silence him.....it seems that he's actually benefited from his railings.
So he's perhaps become even louder.

How is it someone always finds a place to inject a least favorite political figure into this?

Is that even a matter of left vs right? Wouldn't sanity vs insanity be a more natural division?

I was contrasting freedom of speech vs no freedom of speech. I never mentioned freedom of movement.

That used to be normal in many western countries as well, freedom of speech included.

Artistically, I think the cartoon itself is really weird. The message, on the other hand, is a very powerful one, and good for them for having the courage to say what many aren't. It's crude, but it succeeds in grabbing your attention and forcing you to realize something that is showing to be a problem. And those at the butt-end, those who should feel guilty, are those who do lump all immigrants and Muslims together as well as those who try to feign a shield of coverage. We shouldn't be surprised that some immigrants are not good people. It's bound to happen and is just inherent to having massive volumes of economically disparaged people moving around. However, we should be surprised and appalled at the refusal to acknowledge it, and we should question if they were preparing for the immigration, because they had to see it coming as bad as the immigration situation was, before ISIS, which is something that actually made things worse.

That is what I mean indeed...Since none of you have an idea what it feels like to live in a continent called Africa. Believe me,I experimented 5 countries here. The muslim ruled africa is a way safer than the rest of africa ,for a dune hair white gay, like me. Such a dilemma right?

For the first time in this forum,I so disagree with you. Cartoons are not for artistic reasons but politics. That cartoon simply humiliated immigrants. A baby ( look at his clothes, how well dressed he was, as prepared by his mom to integrate into euro culture)
