How does this work, exactly? I keep seeing people talking about some sort of chat room, but clicking the link in the forums doesn't work and logging in to what you just posted doesn't work either.

Use the link in the thread. The forum's built in chatroom was lost to security concerns years ago, so certain members have stepped in to fill the hole by creating external chats for our usage. The latest is linked in my previous post. (Don't enter a password when trying to log in.)
