China's recent missile test has raised fears about the country's growing military capabilities.
The US and other nations all voiced their concerns about an arms race in space. There were also complaints from neighbours like Japan and Taiwan who worry about China's military power. So why the fuss?

I think that part of the fuss is over the PNAC's stated intent to make space the next US 'frontier.' If China has the technology to blow satellites out of the sky then US military / civilian moves into space become vulnerable.

it is a threat to u.s. empire in paticular me thinks. we are stepping up the lets go to iran because they are bad kick again and china has big oil interest in iran. they will obviously want to protect their business interests and this is a interest they we want for ourselves. saddly in the end, i think it does cause a serious problem for world peace, but we only have our selves to blame for our government greed.

The Chinese government is a bunch of dangerous, panicky idiots, but I think they're too preoccupied with holding their own country together to bugger with such frivolities as molesting their neighbors.
