The order was issued during a meeting in Nov 2019, reported dailymail.co.uk Dec 24.

Few month ago, China made headlines when Chinese Christians went abroad evangelizing in a country where it was forbidden. China was very straightforward "We won't help them, they should have obeyed the Law of the country where they are guests".

So my guess is that this will be the first line in the new Bible.

That would not help much. But to stop them from interfering with especially the Chinese people, and manipulation of spiritual people, or end the persecution of many spiritual people. That is important, and one way to do that is by exposing the evil they do.

The bible has already been rewritten many times, there are currently hundreds of versions, each subtly different (and tens of thousands of christian sects each interpretating the particularly version of the bible they prefer in whatever way suites their sensibilities). I don't think one more will make much difference to Christianity. All it means is one more sect to add to the number that is increasing weekly anyway.

Yeah, Protestants also took 7 books out.

Trouble is, they've all been messed about with by Christians, removing bits, adding bits........... No, the Chinese just might go back to the earliest manuscripts and produce an objectively edited version.... you never know.
At least they could edit Gospels like John's, who couldn't even get the timeline in correct order or the duration of events.

And maybe, just maybe, the Chinese would make it clear that Jesus never was in contention with 'The Jews', but with the Priesthood, just like the Baptist had been.

And we should be wary of the Pope as well (he's a EU tool, and would also likely do this, replacing Chinese with globalist). The Bible and Quran (well, maybe to Quran but mainly just to expunge passages that advocate violence against non-followers and ex-followers) do not need to be updated for the times, the current times need to be reformed to fit to better morality.

The Chinese tried atheism, instead of the tolerant version of Atheism as it is practiced by western progressives it was an intolerant Stalnistic atheism which contained none of the good parts of Western atheism (for example gender equality or tolerance for members of the LBGT community). Then they tried to modify Buddhism and got it completely wrong.

I am pretty sure that the Chinese will get islam n xtianity wrong too.

The New Testament is already a more socialist text, unaltered, than any actual policies of the Chinese Communist Party:

Acts 4:32-35: "No one claimed private ownership of any possessions, but everything they owned was held in common. ... There was not a needy person among them...it was distributed to each as any had need."

Why would any 'socialist' need to edit that to make it cohere any better than it already does with socialism? The New Testament is basically one giant diatribe against the wealthy who exploit the poor and social outcasts i.e. "But ye have dishonored the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you, and themselves drag you before the judgment-seats?" (James 2:6).

If you can't make Christianity fit a socialist agenda, what religion could you?

Of course, the post-Deng Xiaoping ideology has long embraced state capitalism and mixed private-public property ownership, under the guise of this being just the "primary stage of socialism" looking forward to a classless, moneyless utopia that is always so infuriatingly out of reach (funny that), all the while the billionaire real estate moguls and the corrupt Politburo elites in the CPC get richer and richer under an ever more totalitarian regime.

That's why the Uighurs are held right now under a police state and being transported like cattle into vast "re-education camps".

I can understand very well why they might want to "revise" or "airbrush" scriptural verses like the following from the Gospel of Luke:

He has brought down the powerful from their thrones,
and lifted up the lowly;
he has filled the hungry with good things,
and sent the rich away empty
