It was on fire when I laid down on it.
I like Mercy Me and Ivoryline. I also like Petra.

Love Southern Gospel and Bluegrass as well!

As for the classics - Mozart and Bach are haaarrrrdddd to beat.

And the greatest Christian music of all time in my opinion? Handel's "Messiah!"

To each his own. He should be easy enough for you to avoid though.

Handel has stood the test of time. His "Water Music" is some of the most beautiful music ever written in my opinion.

He was just cruel to his singers, though. He'd write and incredibly fast, complicated run, repeat it 7 times, and on the eighth, change a single 1/32 note.

Quick question:
What qualifies christian music as such? Just curious, please and thank you :D
Well, in an ideal world, it would be any music with a Christian theme. Gospel, etc..

In reality when I hear the term, I think "utter crap that would never get played if it didn't pander to people's religious sentiment." :(

A favorite example of the first type, TSO's "Believe":

I love TSO/ Savatage. It strikes me as no coincidence, though, that they're not labelled a "Christian band." Their Christian faith is a deep and powerful theme in their music, but they have real talent.

I do like Jeremy Camp, Casting Crowns, Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman and Hillsong. I used to go to a Hillsong church, and they music always touches my soul.

But, then I do love Gospel and more classical 'church' music too. If I need to feel faith, this is what I go to.

As an old timer my opinion is not likely to be considered relevant by the younger generation. I grew up during the the time that the only great popular music was created, i.e. classic rock. I have never lost the enjoyment of listening to a great electric blues/rock quitar artist. The lyrics of rock and blues songs, however, is usually not very uplifting.

A few years ago I began searching for Christian rock artists with the type of music I like. Third Day is one of the best. When I am in a mellower mood, Mercy Me, Casting Crowns, and Jeremy Camp are good. But when I really want that blues rock sound, with some great electric guitar playing, with lyrics that are meaningful, I listen to Glenn Kaiser. I attended one of his live concerts at a church and was blown away. Anyone who likes good, hard rocking blues rock with Christian lyrics should check him out. He has numerous CD's from varioius iterations of his band.
