"Christian Right Activists: Homosexuality is Unnatural Because Kids Find It Icky"

And the author of this strange bit of insight isn't kidding.

Conservative activist E.W. Jackson recently interviewed WorldNetDaily’s David Kupelian and both men agreed that homosexuality was unnatural because kids found it icky.

“We now have 4-year-old kids in preschool where we have lesbian and transgender teachers,” Kupelian said. “They go in and they show two women kissing, two men kissing; there is a natural ick factor where children who have not been corrupted say, ‘Ick, that’s gross.’ I’m sorry, it is gross and the grossness is something that God has put in their mind. People may not like to hear this but it actually is gross and it’s a natural reaction of little innocent kids.”

Jackson agreed, saying,”Let’s face it, you put before a group of 4, 5, 6, 7-year-olds two men kissing and of course they’re going to say, ‘Eww, eww, that’s gross.’ They probably haven’t grown up seeing that, it is unusual to them but the whole point of the left and the LGBT movement is to desensitize people to it, to make it so common that people don’t even react to it.”

Just so there's no mistaking the claim here, the reason some people find homosexuality icky is because god implanted the reaction in their brains because . . . . . . well . . .because homosexuality is just plain icky and they deserve to feel so..................................*sigh* I guess I'm one of the undeserving ones.

I find men kissing icky too, but then I'm someone who grew up when homosexuality was illegal in the UK (1967), and was sexually abused by an older boy, but at least I can recognise where this comes from. Hardly affects how I see homosexual rights though - as being as much a right as any other.

Religion is icky. Teach the kids that.

Reminds me that till 1975 homosexuality was considered a mental disorder in the DSM. I COULD go on and on into every department at the university. So hey it's normal.

Personally I treat this as a dysfunction of the absolutely most dysfunctional region of the human brain self labelled "higher functioning". Hell the label is as dysfunctional as the lame religious wackos.

I can see what they are trying to get at, but it falls short of the mark by quite a bit, and because of something they even admitted to themselves... kids at 6 years old who have been exposed to mostly heterosexual interactions have an expectation in mind, and whatever breaks that expectation is going to be ill-received at first.

It would be like feeding a kid pizza all their lives and then exposing them to asparagus and when they say "Eww...", you claim that asparagus was predestined for gross-ness.

What they were likely going for was something along the lines of the old "Are humans herbivores or carnivores?" example. Where you take a 2 or 3 year old, plop them down in front of an apple and a baby chicken, and then ask them which one is for eating. Obviously, the kid's going to pick the apple every time - which plants the idea that maybe meat-eating isn't at all our first inclination, because if you plop the same two things in front of a lion cub, you're going to see drastically different results.

That's not as informative as boy toy/girl toy logic. Playing with big muscles GI Joe will make your boy straight, but not playing with a beautiful female in a skimpy outfit. That could totally make your boy gay
