Christianity = Poision

Christianity is a poision among this world. Many scare you into God and His word. I was one of those people who was forced into God. I've now taken to Satanism... modern Satanism if you will. Christians upset me very much by trying to convert me back... or talk me out of my current religion. I'm a very open-minded individual but please... stop of the non-sense of telling me that I'm wrong... when you yourself can't prove that you're correct. God or no God, I don't trust in Him, and I would appreciate all of you stuck-up Christians to leave me be. I'm not knocking on open-minded Christians... and I mean no offense to any Christian.

Though I agree with you wholeheartedly, I think you need to support statements like that. Keep in mind this is a debate forum, and while I think you might be capable of presenting some stimulating points, you do need to define them. Proof-reading your posts will lend you a bit more credibility, and it's a simple fact that a Satanist will need to hoard all the credibility he can or you'll be dismissed as a sensationalist.

You've taken a stance that represents the antithesis of Christianity; I'd think you'd understand why so many Christians constantly attempt to convert you.

How can there be a Satan without a God? I understand a rejection of God should he exist (I, myself, would reject God for his capriciousness if I found myself believing in his existence), but I do not understand how Satan can exist without him.

I'm not knocking on open-minded Christians... and I mean no offense to any Christian.
This statement rings empty; "all of you stuck-up Christians" is a pretty offensive statement to follow up with a claim of neutrality.

This could become an interesting discussion; I've always wanted to pick an intelligent, intellectual Satanist's brain for more information on motives and belief systems.

Perhaps you could begin by explaining what, exactly, it is you believe? How you reconcile being a follower of an entity that other religions hold as the representative of evil and deceit?

No offense taken. True Christianity is more about action rather then words. Suppose the most satanic person in the world cursed me, flipped me off and then tripped into a pool of water, drowning...I would jump in and try to help him. In my eyes, this is christianity. A poison of this world? Most definately.

What makes believing in a god you have no proof exists any different from believing in Satan who you also have no proof exists?

according to the wise words of some communist (who i think is Mao, but it was a quote from the movie, Kundun) "all religion is poison"

it is, to some degree, i makes people think different. yet on the other hand, it gives hope, that something is out there, something that we need in times of desperation.

its not wrong. but some people can go too far with religion to attack others and be plain dumb. i dont think God calls us to attack one another. rather, we should be all peaceful and loving and compassionate towards one another, supporting another.

religion is a tool, a path to be used by humans, not the other way around.

have you seen the movie "signs"? it talks a lot about believing is worth while or not.

Anything is poison if you don't use it correctly. Christianity is a very broad term. It is the responsibility of the individual not the church to deal with your spirituality.

Why just attack christianity? Had you said religion as whole I would have agreed to the statement. In a way religion as stated before was and still is a "tool" used to keep those who believe in it under control. A tool used by early man to keep people from thinking outside the box. People who lacked education and didnt know what things like Freedom were. It was a sales pitch if you will. For example: "Hey you have no education, no money, life expectancy for you is very short but, if you believe in "fill in the blank" salvation is yours". Most religions of ancient times offered life after death because it was hope that there was a better life beyond the hell that people were living in. A previous post said "It gives hope, that something is out there, something that we need in times of desperation". That is true! that is why the gospels were written in the first place. The gospels were letters written for the people of its time who were being persecuted by their gov't. These people needed hope and thats what the gospels offered them. The movie "Signs" only proves this point further. The priest had lost his faith when his God had taken his wife from him. The only time he looks to his faith is in a time of trouble. Aliens are invading his house and his family is in danger. Outside when his believes his son is dead he asks God not to take another one of his family members. Had the boy died do you think he woudl have been as faithful as he appeared to be at the end of the movie? No! He would have denied his faith once again because he felt his faith or God didnt exist.

As many here have said, the phrase 'stuck up Christians' is rather contradictory to the message of being open-minded. You are making an assumption based on a group of group of people, not allowing for the individual. Doing this makes you condemning people who condemn you hypocricy.

I'd have to disagree with this definition. I would say this is an example of someone doing the right thing...but not all people who do the right thing are Christian, and not all Christians do the right thing. Kind of an "all squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares" situation. What makes a person fall under the broad label of "Christian" depends on their beliefs, not necessarily on how good of a person they are.

Christianity isn't the problem, it's the way some people practice it that causes problems and tensions. But that can be said of most any religion.

Because Satanism doesn't worship an enitity. Satan represents nature, human nature to be more exact.

Christianity is acting like Jesus[save] Christ[annointed] or living on the principles of Jesus Christ, of course its an example of someone doing the right thing, this is called being in Christ. If a "christian or non-christian" is not doing the right thing, they are not "in" Christ if they turn around and "do" the right thing they are then in Christ. It matters not if you actually believe in him. If you want the correct definition, check out websters dictionary.

True Blood, might I recommend that you do some research on Satanism before you condemn it as "demon worship"? Most Satanists I know look at Satan as a symbol, not as a real entity... and the do not worship demons. Your comment proves that you have not really taken a look at the issue, and therefore are not prepared to make credible arguments in this debate. Furthermore, your comment is off topic. In response to the topic, you should be trying to defend Christianity, not defile Satanism.

You would do well to read the post of Pah's on RESPECT!
The whole of your post is OFFENSIVE to all who claim Christianity!
I do not, and was offended!

Runt, I gave the most legal, official definition of the word Satanism. Creating new meanings for words isn't for me. I look into the root of the word.

true blood, Runt has a point. The root word of Satanism is obviously 'Satan', but that does not imply worship of Satan. It is possible that it could be a mere symbol as Runt said. I checked out the Satanism forums here for the first time awhile back, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Their teachings and morals aren't that different from Christianity, actually...you should check it out.

As far as the definition of 'Christian' goes, I would have to agree with Mr. Spinkles. Perhaps you have to act as Jesus did to be 'in' Christ, but you certainly don't have to to be a member of his Church.

satanists use the word satan to **** off christians... LeVey knew that attaching the name satan to the 'satanic' bible would **** of the self righteous and provoke curiosity ammong the rest.

Its a pretty good book with lots of good ideas...
