Christianity teach us about consciousness

Yea no doubt, but it seems they also agree on a few things as well.
Why can't THAT stuff be brought to Light?
Imo, I wish there was more 'Hey I agree with you' and working with that, instead of trying to figure out why we are different. A negative approach to a Formless Form, while centering around the positives of each individual.
I don't know... could be crazy?! ;)
Good thought. The two would have tremendous similarity of words with Jesus but meanings would be different in many cases. That might complicate things but would make it interesting.

If the Christian Churches will not teach us the interior life then we can gain insight from other disciplines that teach us how to get in touch with our soul. As a Christian there is nothing to fear from the East or other disciplines, if they help us become more devoted and have a deep spiritual experience than it is all good. We don't have to be afraid because if they don't help us then nothing is lost we can just go on our way.

I have no idea how I missed theosis in all the reading I've done. But you should know it got me on quite a rant..... (links below)

Always good to hear from you Brother Soma. This has such been the exact tale of my Practice. I note the irony on the end of post #19 in the link below.

In the journaling of my mind and spiritual journey I have added a new two part post in "Christian Mysticism Thread" starting at #18.

If you are interested I would like for you to look them over since talking with you both has been an inspirational meeting in my life.

Thanks for sharing the Love.

Sage Tree salutations to the Divinity within you too. I read those post and feel you are being guided along the razor's edge. I find some in religious institutions have become rigid and fossilized. It is up to the Christian mystics today to help Christians along this path that the institutions have reject out of fear and power. The spiritual pioneers of old and new are reject so must prevail and find the path. Then explain it to others in the contemporary terms of the time.

I have an image where Mohamed comes from the desert, Shiva from the Mountain, Jesus from the water and Buddha from his tree. They meet and then start to dance, swirling like the Sufi until they become one. Then they stop and all go their separate ways. Namaskar

Thanks Soma, due at least in part to your posts a long time ago on a board far far away I saw your words and kind heart....they touched me deeply.

The internet is a funny thing and people we will never no, too well I figure, are the people we often connect with the most deeply ,at times thought a simple exchange, but we can never tell the berevity of these little talks we have. I can only hope and have joy in thinking there is a possability that my kind intentions have helped someone as much as you've show me the Light and that there are other Christians and people of faith who think feel and believe like me.

I love the ideas of Supreme Being(ness)es dancing together for even as instant. Zen would say this is a burst of enlightenment along the path perhaps? These are the talks we are having now I feel.

Much love

Thank you for the kind words. I lived overseas for twenty years and I am forever grateful to the teachers who met me for brief moments, smiled, shared, nodded their head, or made a side glance. The zen teacher helped with a swipe of his stick, a stern look or reply, but it was usually what I needed.
