It holds much more information, so it kind of is
it also has many false information, more false than true.

i don't believe that, unless you mean the Torah distortion happened later after Moses (pbuh), and call it evolution.the evidence for the evolution of Judaism is right there in the Torah, and when used in conjunction with non-Jewish Canaanite religious texts the genesis of the faith is pretty clear.
ofcouese some acts of some jwish people mentioned in quran and history have nothing to do with true Judaism, such as the incident when Moses left them in Sinai in Egypt, and when come back he found them worshiping a status of a bull.and when used in conjunction with non-Jewish Canaanite religious texts the genesis of the faith is pretty clear.
Allah told use pretty much about jesus because christiantity was the true allah religion in this peiod (do you hear about the incident when muslims took the Romans side as they are christeians against Persians).I've read much of the Qur'an, yes, it's actually quite easy to spot where stories that would have been floating around in the 7th century were simply selected by Muhammad.
For example, in the 2nd sura there is the generic story of Jesus's life, but mixed into it there is a reference to Jesus creating birds from clay and bringing them to life - this little story isn't in any New Testament gospel but is found in a 2nd century fictional account of Jesus's childhood called the Infancy Gospel of Thomas, a book written specifically because people yearned for more stories of Jesus.
Allah revealed quran bit by bit to educate people, man, it's a new religion in pagan, illetral, badawi people. The evolution of Islam is actually pretty clear just from reading the Qur'an, the key is to read it in chronological order rather than the order the suras are found in the book.
okI don't expect you to believe any of that as a Muslim, the post you responded to was actually written in reply to a non-Muslim member, so it's based on non-Muslim scholarship and understanding.
if fact there are some points i'll be glad to mention:Quran:9:5 - Fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, harass them, lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war.
...
...
...
if fact there are some points i'll be glad to mention:
first, you selectively picked up verses out of its context, honesty don't say that.
second, you missed something: you didn't attach any explanation of this holy scripts.
third, is there a war in islam? ofcourse there are wars in islam, and also there are peace and trading, and business, and banking, and medicine, and science, ...etc,
it's a religion for life, and as you know my friend there are wars in life, right?
in fact, it'll be so strange if the opposite happenes and no mentioning of that important aspect in a religion that claims it's for all people, for all ages, and for all aspect of life.
so, mentioning verses that talk about war in the way you did is very pointless unless you talk about something specific.
i hope you got me
they will never get you brother, theres no point.
i keep telling them too that islam has so much more than just wars, the wars are the only aspects of our religion that they focus on, this shows how much they hate islam, and they say they don't. they fail to recognise the other things of islam just as you have mentioned. they think that islam revolves around war well guess what? all those who think that are wrong in many ways that one cannot even imagine. why not say what a peacefull religion it is, why not chose those verses from the Kur'an that speak about peace, why not speak about how we are to treat people with respect,
wish for your brother/uncle/neighbour that which you wish for your self. hows that for a good verse (i think that is a verse, if not then a hadith). but i guess violence stands out more to people of hatred, doesn"t it.

Like I said, I don't expect you to believe it, it's non-Muslim scholarship.i don't believe that, unless you mean the Torah distortion happened later after Moses (pbuh), and call it evolution.
It's a story that demonstrates how easily the people were drawn to other gods, since the Hebrew people at this point were still essentially henotheistic/polytheistic, and would continue to be so until King Hezekiah's reforms in the 6th century BC.ofcouese some acts of some jwish people mentioned in quran and history have nothing to do with true Judaism, such as the incident when Moses left them in Sinai in Egypt, and when come back he found them worshiping a status of a bull.
ofcourse he shocked and get angry and destroyed that status on the promise they will never do such acts again,
is that evolution ?
Exactly, and what I find interesting is in the building of the religion, from the initial reforms Muhammad attempts to make through the use of fear of hellfire, through the incorporation of Jewish and Christian stories.Allah revealed quran bit by bit to educate people, man, it's a new religion in pagan, illetral, badawi people.
it's not a book delivery thing, it's building a society and rasing a generation that later will spread the message to other nations.
I have no intention to give strong points against Islam, I just like discussing the origins and evolution of the various world religions.ok
i realise you'r not muslim, i just asked you about what's your evidence that islam is evolved, it's logic not islamic question if this what you mean.
i mean, you are not muslim, ok, everybody is on his/her own, but at least give some strong points against islam, not just islam is evolved because there are stories inside quran.
I see what you are trying to say,but how out of context is this even if you add the rest of it ,lets look at this
Sura 2:216, 217.
216. Fighting is prescribed for you and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth and ye know not.
217. They ask thee concerning fighting in the Prohibited Month. Say: "Fighting is a grave (offence); but graver is it in the sight of Allah to prevent access to the path of Allah to deny Him to prevent access to the Sacred Mosque and drive out its members. Tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter. Nor will they cease fighting you until they turn you back from your faith if they can. And if any of you turn back from their faith and die in unbelief their works will bear no fruit in this life and in the Hereafter; they will be Companions of the Fire and will abide therein.
The fighting is prescribed for you and you dislike it etc,is this prescribed violence or something from a religion of love and toerance
I am trying to better understand your argument here. Are you saying that Jesus was not actually crucified, but that we were only made to believe he was? I want make sure I am clear on that before I respond.
Wow, so many posts out there.
That was just what appeared to those who *tried* to crucify him, so they didn't crucify Jesus because God wouldn't allow anyone to humiliate his Prophets. It didn't happen to any other great Messenger and it didn't happen to Jesus.

you see how that makes a difference, don't just choose the ones you want to shame islam but use the whole thing, that tells you the real things about war, we never attack unless we are provocked or if we are attacked first.

OK Muslim
ok is that a name of a person or form of belief?
