Christians: Almighty G-d vs. the devil & co.

I was watching the movie Drag Me to Hell when a thought struck me and I'd like to hear several different Christian opinions, along with the opinions of anyone else who believes in an all-powerful, benevolent god and a (or several) force(s) and its agent(s) which act against that god.

How is it that the devil and his demons have any power over human souls? Watching Drag Me to Hell, I was astounded that a woman could place a curse on another woman which would have the effect of the curse victim being taken by a demon into Hell. What if the victim was baptized and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour? Would the curse still be effective? Are there ANY circumstances in which these curses are effective? Does G-d just allow people to set demons on each other, or is he incapable of stopping it since the devil's rebellion? Or can people not set demons on each other at all?

I'm curious to hear different Christians view points, with Biblical sources when you've got 'em.

I was watching a movie cant remember the name, a man sold his soul to the devil but as the movie went on he decided he didnt want to do what the devil told him to do, so he saves a woman he suppose to kill the devil gets mad but leaves him alone. Jesus often forced demons out of people, I believe God allows this because we do, In Genesis we was given control of this world but we decided to sin and still choose to. Yes God can stop it but we as humans have to want it to stop not just a certain group but all humans. As far as setting demons on each other I do know that sort thing exist but God can stop it if only we ask sincerly matthew 7. God bless

God permits the devil to exert a certain power
over the human race so that we may know the
Son loves the Father and the Father loves the Son.
Without God's permission the devil is absolutely
powerless to do anything.
This is all part of God's mysterious plan for the
human race that we are to resist the wiles of the
devil with the help of God's grace.

From my perspective there is very little in the bible in regard to how the devil works. We know that the bible says the devil is after spiritual wickedness in hgh places, and not concerned with carnal affairs as much.

There is the instance in the book of acts where a demon leaps out and overtakes a would-be missionary. The story goes, the demon said Paul I know, and Jesus I know, but you I do not know, and overtook the person, almost implying the demon could not do that to Jesus or Paul.

The bible is much too vague about these topics to really say. Demons however, are nothing more than angels doing the will of the devil, and the devil is doing nothing but the will of God. So when you figure out that mess, let me know...

The matter of demons, evil spirits and other manifestations of evil powers is mis-stated above.

Paul was able to heal people of diseases mental illness, physical deformities of sickness and some sons of Sceva sought to redmove devils as they had seen Paul remove evil spirits stated(as noted above) about knowing Paul and Jesus -then the evil spirit overcame them and they left the area severelly beaten.
God was in control through the Spirit that Paul had to help him in his ministry.
The matter is revealed as seen in the following scripture:Act 19:11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:
Act 19:12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.
Act 19:13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.
Act 19:14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.
Act 19:15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?
Act 19:16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
Act 19:17 And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

Is not going to save you.
Its a movie. Its not real.
"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." James 4:7

Once again this is a move created by HOLLYWOOD and is purly ficitional.

I don't believe in Satan as an entity, for the most part. The way it is worded in the New Testament, Satan comes across mostly as our own thirsts and hungers- and not necessarily evil, just dependent on body alone (a spirit would not need to eat, for example). It also seems an "embodiment" of temptation- such as when Satan was tempting Jesus after His 40 day fast (offering the Kingdom of the World, so to speak). And Judas, falling into temptation when he betrayed Jesus.
This is just an idea and I don't really know what Satan is or is supposed to be outside of "the Accuser" mentioned in Job- which isn't a literal story.
