As we can see, the conflict has been going on for well over 60 years now.

Jerusalem has been an important part of Christianity as Jesus was crucified there and Bethany and Bethlehem weren't too far away.

What is the Christian viewpoint with this as:

1. Jews arguably killed Jesus by reporting him to the Romans
2. Islam believes in Jesus as a Prophet
3. Jesus was a Jew

Were the Jews involved in the crusades? Whose side were they on?

Why don't Christians control Israel and give Muslims and Jews equal rights? Because today Israel is wiping Palestine off the map while the Middle East is kicking out their Jewish population and Hamas,Hezbollah and Iran want Israel destroyed

There were also Jews who believed in Christ. I don't see how this is relevant.

Yes, they do. I don't think that wins them brownie points though in the Israel-Palestinian conflict in the view of Christians. :p

3. Jesus was a Jew
Yup.

Were the Jews involved in the crusades? Whose side were they on?
There were Jews who fought alongside Muslims to defend Jerusalem from the Crusaders. There were also Jews I believe who co-operated with the Crusaders.

How do you know us Christians won't start persecuting the Jews AND the Muslims? :p

Jews that believe in Christ are not Jews. Jews believe the Messiah has not come yet and there's no mention of Jesus in Torah

I think this is a political thread in a religious DIR. I think it has no place here.

Well I said 'Christians only' didn't I? I don't want propaganda from Jewish,Muslim and (arguably) Atheist members. Christianity is the 'third' big religion so it'd be nice to see their viewpoint

Especially as Jordan,Egypt and Lebanon has Christians and Muslims culturally tied together as opposed to the West has Jews and Christians getting along better.

I'm opposed to Zionism. I think that land should be shared by the peoples who live there. I hope for peace and that all bigotries and feelings of ethnic/religious supremacism are finally left in the dust.

I don't support Israel's policy of forcing Palestinians out of their homes while Israelis move in, or the many opressive regulations Israel pushes on them. But I also condemn all forms of terrorism, most especially the rocket attacks and suicide bombings. I feel that both sides should cease hostilities, and that both should come to a peaceful solution that respects the rights of the Palestinians and grants them full equality with the Israelis and every right under the law that an Israeli has, along with a complete cessation of Israel's policy of evicting Palestinians, destroying their communities and building Israeli settlements in their place, while also recognizing that Israeli Jews are there to stay.

Israel is just as important to Christians as it is to the Jews, But that doesn't necessarily make that land ipso-facto theirs just because it has religious relevance.

1 - As to who killed Jesus.. Does it matter? His death was not about who killed Him, But that He died to save us.

2 - Yes, Muslims believe that Jesus was only a prophet. But that really has no relevance to anything.

3 - Yup, He was.

As to why Christians don't control Israel, Simple. It's not ours. It's the Jews. They've fought, won and held Israel. To expect them to give the land back is not only ridiculous but pretty hypocritical.

If Jesus was born in China, then Chinese would have "killed" them. Thats the point, Jesus had to die.
Islam believes in Jesus as a Prophet
So?
3. Jesus was a Jew
Yes, He was
Anyway, I am all for Zionism. I totally support Israel.

I initially didn't read that you were Christian; when I saw you support Zionism and the star of David I assumed you were Jewish.

Anyway, how could one justify the forced immigration into Israel by European Jews? The exceeded White Paper quotas.

I recall in a documentary I watched Ben Gurion tells the Jews to 'open fire' on the British who saved them during WWII.

And Menachem Begin was responsible for the bombing of the King David Hotel and the death of civilians.

So almost 1000 British died from British-Zionist conflict.

Yet in today's post 9/11 world we paint Palestinians as bad guys because they're Muslim when before this the Irgun were as bad as Al Qaeda

And i'm on neither side as Hamas =/= Palestinian

Both sides have a right to exist with a proportionate amount of land according to population size

God the Father has given all the Land to Israel as their inheritance; God is the husband of Israel and Israel is the bride; God has all these promises inside His Word inside the Old Testament in covenant with Israel alone. God will spit out all invaders, whether Palestinian terrorist or any other group that claims that Palestine is not Israel's land. The book of Revelation will pour out God's wrath upon all the offend His people Israel. God's thoughts are higher than man's thoughts; God's way is higher than man's way. The Godhead is the Father, the Son (Christ / Messiah), and the Holy Ghost (ministry) / Holy Spirit (divine person of the Godhead)

I don't debate , i just ask a question :
Is HE (Him self said ) he died to save you ?
as I know the authors of the Gospols whom said , NOT him.

2 - Yes, Muslims believe that Jesus was only a prophet. But that really has no relevance to anything.
the Bible too said , he is prophet , so we the muslim believe a part what Bible said :)

3 - Yup, He was.
is not he is final messanger of God to the Jews ?
and the Jews reject him , is there garanties that they will accept him in his second come ?

so the Americans should back the land to the native indians ?

I'm neither a Muslim or a Jew, and I live in suburban Australia so the conflict has no real relevance to me. Therefore, I have no real opinion on the conflict.

Nonetheless, comfortable in my armchair, I believe in the right of Israel to exist and not have to put up with endless rocket attacks. And I can see how trying to reason with people hell bent on destroying you is not really a viable option.

Edit: And isn't there enough threads on this already? It's getting tedious.

The fact that Jesus was Jewish is irrelevant, given that Jesus turned a nationalistic religion into a universal religion. and this passage is the proof of it:

Jesus said that
21Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe Me, an hour is coming when neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. 22"You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23"But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.…

Of course they do. The exact same human rights as the Israelis, including the institution of a Palestinian state. I take no 'sides' here.

But it seems Hamas is more interested in fighting.
