Lol, sorry but you're not going to find an echo chamber by trying to hide in here. I'm a trans man and a Christian. The teacher was being a bigoted buffoon who was discriminating against the student and disrupting the classroom. He deserved to be fired.

Oh, and the Bible isn't a science textbook. Science shows that there's a biological basis to being trans. So you're just wrong.

That article is just wrong. It conflates transsexualism with transvestism and homosexuality, when those are 3 completely different things. It does allow that being trans at least might have a biological basis but then compares it to a sex addiction or being a murderer. That's just flat out offensive. Transitioning saves lives. A lot of trans people are suicidal or even commit suicide due to dysphoria. But transitioning eases it. I know I'm a lot happier with myself after being on testosterone. I don't know why we shouldn't accept science and medicine as God's answer to our prayers for healing.

I just wanted to mention that people who would be transgender or transsexual (whichever word you prefer) today are mentioned in the NT (not sure about the Hebrew Bible). In the Hellenic world, "eunuch" was a third gender category equivalent to the Indian "hijra". It would've referred to gender variant males and trans women. They were often castrated and expressed themselves femininely, including presenting and living as women, although not always. It was an umbrella category that would've covered both feminine gay men and straight trans women. Jesus mentions eunuchs in Matthew 19:12. There is also the story of the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8, who ends up being one of the earliest converts to Christianity: Ethiopian eunuch - Wikipedia Notably, neither of these mentions are condemning.

WHAT???????????????? What the heck is she doing using the male female term at all? Sex gender have something to do with learning?She should have called him a him whats wrong with just using his name? Gender has nothing to do with school.

I'm sorry for being an ***hole. I still disagree personally and privately with the transgender issue but regret not being mindful of your needs. I am sorry I offended you. I DON"T want to hurt you and only want to express my privately held religious convictions. My only issue with the left, but not all of the left, is government dictating religious liberty and speech. I personally will use your chosen legal name out of respect for your need for safety, but please don't otherwise tell me what to say. Do you honestly think I am that mean? I am sorry if you do. I would jump in front of a bullet to save a trans person, even if I disagree with the issue. I am seeking permission to practice civil disagreement, and I wish you pure joy.

The right to free speech is not an absolute. The teacher broke both the spirit and the letter of the rules under which he was employed. Neutral non gender specific terms exist, yet the teacher continued to use terms the student felt were inappropriate even after being asked to stop.

This is not a free speech nor religious freedom issue, this is a guy who thought the rules didn't apply to him and is now playing the martyr card rather than accept responsibility for his actions issue. :)

Context is important. Don't try to shoehorn meaning in. The passage you are quoting is about divorce, not sexuality. How might also like to go look up the difference between "normative" as opposed to "prescriptive".

Again, Jesus never mentioned anything remotely related to transgenderism.
