Christians: what is required for salvation...

I've been told I'm "going to hell" so often I'm sorta getting excited about making the trip. I would wonder how many posters here at RF I'll see there?

Wonderer.

I hear it's a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there! [emoji12]

Muffled

Jesus in me
Muffled: Yes, but if I were to ask, "What is grace?" would you know with certainty what to say? Or would your response be muffled?

I believe I can graceful enough in my response to not be muffled.

Grace is the gift of God. In the case of salvation God gives Himself. That is a priceless gift.

Must be a terrible atmosphere there. :D BTW, I'm having tostadas with refried beans today for dinner, so I could probably contribute to it.

My church used to do bean suppers on Saturday night. I believe it makes me wonder what they were thinking considering the next day is Sunday. Can't remember it affecting anyone adversely in church and it was a very small church..

What is required for salvation, with no exceptions?
"Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved …Acts 16:30. Sounds simple but requires faith and trust also.
If you believe in Him, you will obey His commandments and follow His teachings. In other words you will become a
regular Bible reader so that you will know what He teaches and what He wants.

That could rationally explain the Catholic practice to asperge incense to suffocating levels during mass.

What the...?! I love the smell of incense! :)

BTW, at least at my wife's church they use a type of incense that tends to be much less potent, plus they remove it immediately after the priest is done with the blessing.

I believe that sounds so good but I think most people miss the point and think that Jesus is instituting a new law.

I believe that is a good thing but it still misses the point.

Oh Heavens. I hope they won't be accused of heresy for using the wrong incense. I suppose it makes sense that smoke is used to put wasps to sleep so why not use incense to put Beelzebub (Lord of the flies) to sleep.

Depends who you listen to...
  • According to Paul, you must believe that jesus is your lord and saviour; that by his death, and resurrection you're saved.
  • According to John, you must believe in jesus, and that salvation was sent to the Jews.
  • According to Yeshua within the synoptic gospels, you must follow his words to the letter, with all the criteria; then if you make it to the end, you'll be saved.
As you can understand most Christians follow the first easier options. :innocent:
Agree with you. More than 90% Christians follow the first options.
