Because from what I've seen, Republican logic is that we should pay them an insane and undeserved amount of money for sitting around doing nothing. They claim small government is best and yet continue to ask the public for government jobs.
Have you READ biblical laws about such things? They are morally atrocious much of the time. If you want more egalitarian examples of legal theory, go with at least the ancient Egyptians.
Because only the Chihuahua needs to be verbally aggressive. One can sense the power of a Rottweiler, which is why I've never really heard them bark much in a threatening way. I had a cocker spaniel once who went off on a rott, who just sat there like "You've GOT to be kidding me."

How about we be honest about this thread? It's "Humans Who Attempt to Regulate Moral Behavior." Because there's not a human out there, including atheists, who actually is content to leave their fellow man alone.

Those of you who think people should not exercise their civic rights in whatever manner they see fit...
How do you manage to type such hypocrisy, read it and then actually post it?
In what weird universe do any if you suggest that a citizen should somehow be restrained from voting in accordance with their religious beliefs? Or should be somehow restricted from public demonstration of the same? These are basic rights.
Facism by any other name would reek as bad.

It could be worse than that.
Some extremist Christian zealots, if they had enough influence, would be dangerous. And if they ever built a theocracy it would be a horror story.
What I cannot understand is how some Christians will snatch obscure passages from the bible and shout them loud, but totally ignore clear and direct laws such as the poor laws in Mosiac Law.

I think there is high ground in those laws... laws about safety like putting a fence on your roof so people don't fall over... laws about not following a mob in doing violence... you shall rise before the aged... respect the environment. If you find a bird nest you can take the eggs but leave the mother that your days may be long on the earth

The laws illustrate Holiness and without Holiness no one can see the Lord says Hebrews... problem is we are not holy in ourselves but Jesus is... and so I do agree with 'redistribution of wealth' regarding true wealth of righteousness. Jesus has all the righteousness and we have all the sin and he swaps it on the cross.

We see from states "governed" by the religious and what kind of cesspools they are?
None of which originated with the bible and similar rules can be found in older texts elsewhere.

Is that a goal I'm supposed to care about? Freedom is more important than our geopolitical pecking order. At least to me. You, of course, are free to exercise your own civic clout towards whatever agenda you like, as is your right as a human being. I will never get behind any policy that requires a citizen to somehow divorce themselves from what they believe before exercising their rights. It's a ridiculous notion and has no home in a free society.
It may shock you to know that I care very little what Jesus has to say. I'm not a Christian of any flavor.
Personally, I don't judge people unworthy of human rights such as voting, practicing religion, or even advocating facist ideals for any reason.
I will, of course, exercise my own rights when I disagree. I may not have faith in any god but I do have faith in people. In this case I trust fascism will never be allowed to take hold in my country. There are too many sane people. Even if we do afford the crazys a voice.
