Hey, we've all been there! No worries!:D

For me, what I really want is what I think I'm getting, the Return of the King Extended Edition. I'll have to wait until after Christmas to find out, though.

Although what I'd really like is to meet everyone here on the forums in person!

I've always been fond of someday receiving the dancing girls mentioned in the song "Twelve days of Christmas".

I'm right there with Brigid...enough money so I don't have to work out who the lucky service provider it is this week that gets what they're owed.

Thank you fromtheheart. I wish the same for you as well as everyone here.

In spite of having to quit my job this month due to a few issues, I am very pleased with how Christmas turned out for everyone I wanted to provide material gifts for. For the younger kids, I do not mind spending a few dollars to help with the Santa lie until they are old enough to understand that Santa does not exist as a person. I actually told everyone that I was more worried about the kids having a good Christmas, which could be done without material gift giving, than getting anything myself. I got many gifts this year that were not material that I claim as early Christmas gifts. I got my biological mother back in my kids and my life, my 4 year old home for good, the ability to go to college online in order to privide a better life for my family and provide an example for my children. Of course there are other gifts that I am happy for every year, like, life's necessities, healthy and happy children, a loving husband, family and friends, life itself, mine and my families health and well being.

This Christmas is very special to me because my 4 year old is home instead of having to visit for 4 hours and then go back to her foster home, which was the case last year, and my 5 year old will be here for a few hours Christmas Eve so she can spend Christmas day with her fathers family.

I would like a truck, a mid-sized, good mileage pickup truck - something that would help in trips to Home Depot.

oh wait, Santa and Social Security checks came last Saturday and delivered a nice, four wheel drive, black one. :woohoo:

A Greencard.
Is there anything any of us can do to help you get a green card? What is the cost of plane fare from Australia to the U.S.? How long can you stay for a visit without a greencard?

Find me an employer who is willing to sponsor me for a greencard, and who can prove that there is nobody within the US who could do my job. Or, find a way to either legalize gay marriage on a federal level (so it would then be recognised for immigration purposes, and Maize could sponsor me), or get them to dig out the Permanent Partners Immigration Act, and push it through (which would mean Maize could sponsor me, without marriage). In short: a miracle. Cost of plane fare is roughly $3000 (return). I can stay for 90 days without a visa, 90 days with a tourist visa, and *possibly* get that extended for longer, if I can prove I have the funds to pay for my stay without working (which I can't). Work visas are trickier to get, as I am unskilled and unqualified to do anything, so I am in the bottom batch of people considered for work visas. They can take years to get, I'm told. In short: not long enough.

Actually, anyone who is genuinely interested in helping, could go here and contact their representative, urging them to sponsor the Permanent Partners Immigration Act. :) Even those against gay marriage should be able to do that in good conscience. Although, with the Republican control of the House and Senate even stronger since the Nov. election, I don't see it happening any time soon...

Oh, and you could all keep your fingers crossed that I 'win' a greencard in the Diversity Visa Lottery. I put in my entry the other day...but keep 'em crossed till May-July, cause it's a horrible long wait to find out if I get one or not.
