Church of England to have first bishop couple

That's very much a matter of opinion it seems. If holy scriptures made things clear, there probably wouldn't be a Church of England in the first place.

Henry VIII only created that organization so that he could get divorced because the Pope wouldn't let him. It wasn't exactly created out of pure intentions.

Not really.If you believe in the word of God, then that is your law.It says that God lets those who want to know Him,know the truth, by way of God's holy spirit.If people do the opposite of what God commands, then what does that say about them and their practices? It is clear.They do what they do by their own reasonings that have nothing to do with whats biblical.According to holy scripture of course.

No, sir. But it's how many groups within my sect dress. Well, minus a long jacket. I just used that one because it most closely resembled the bishopess.

Two questions:
1. What is so special about their having been married- is that normally not allowed?

The picture is quite misleading. Neither of those people are the ones mentioned in the article. The "decked out" one is the Archbishop of York, and the woman standing next to him is Libby Lane who was the first woman bishop in England. They are not a couple.

It wasn't quite that simple of course but it did boil down to the fact that Popes and Kings could come up with all sorts of different ways to practice Christianity because... scriptures don't make things especially clear.
