I defend a smoker's right to smoke. I believe that a smoker has as much right to smoke as any person has the right to drive.
That being said...
I am not asking for an option. I don't smoke. However, as I have said, if I could vote for my husband, I would vote regular/full-flavored,, If I could vote based on smell, i would still vote regular/full-flavored.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
Wait - I am totally confused. I am defending rakhel, who is a girl, on THIS thread - LOL! WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME??? I am a moron!

See, Mercy - it's not hard to say at all. You oughtta try it!

And Rakhel, I am with ya on the husband smoking scent. My husband is a light smoker and I absolutely love the way he smells. He's fastidious about personal hygiene (always a plus in a man!) and he smells like shampoo, Polo cologne, the big Texas outdoors, and a whiff of Winstons. Love it love it love it.

Harhahrhhaar, read my edit! Love me a Marlboro man (or in my case, a Winston man).

Truth be told, I'd love for him to quit smoking, because I want him around for a long time, but I knew he smoked when I married him, and I know better than to try to change him.

Polo? really? Never touch the stuff myself. I'm more of an old spice/Alfred Sung man.

I have to show this to my best friend's girl. He has been secretly smoking for the last two years because she won't let him smoke and wants to control every other aspect of his life. Silly girl thinks she has a say in the matter and doesn't understand that her controlling nature is actually detrimental to their relationship. Love ya, Kathryn.:hugehug:

Hey, Alfred Sung is good too!

As for your friend's girlfriend - ask her this: Would she rather have HIM as he is, or lose him by her controlling ways?

When we were dating, my husband, who is an honest guy, told me about a time that his ex wife (note EX) reamed him up one side and down the other because, though he was trying to quit smoking, she had "caught him lying" about it. He is, as we say in Texas, a GROWN *** MAN, a fine father, a chivalrous and affectionate husband, an good provider with a rock solid career and reputation, and he was having to sneak around and act like a 12 year old boy hiding his cigarettes in the shed so he won't get caught? RIDICULOUS.

To your friend - look closely at this relationship. This woman better learn to temper her opinions, and even her professed love, with a healthy dose of respect for him - ALL of him - or there'll be trouble for sure.

Well, I've made it clear to him what I think about this girl on several occasions but as much as I love him, he is kind of a push-over. He won't tell her off because it isn't in his nature and I really don't think it's my place to step in on the subject. He broke up with her once because she followed us to the bar and sat in her car to see if he was smoking. She called him as she was watching us smoke and asked him if he was smoking. He said no, she walked up to us, slapped him and walked into the bar. She picked the farthest table from our party and gave him the evil eye for the rest of the night. Not to put too fine a point on it but she's effing crazy. I'm not sure how they got back together but the relationship has a definitive half-life. I just wish he didn't have to hide his cigs in my car in the meantime.

Done here.

Well, he shouldn't have lied to her. I'd have been ****** off too, if I were her. He should have said, Yes, I'm smoking. I'm out in the bar with my friends and I'm smoking.

But she does sound crazy.

I'll be damned if I would be SNEAKING AROUND smoking as an adult. He needs to say to her, "Look. I am a smoker. If I ever decide to quit, it's going to be in MY good time and on MY terms. I will not be pushed or pressured into it by anyone other than myself. If you can't deal with this, then please do us both a favor and move on down the road."

I agree, lying isn't the best way to handle it but like I said, he is a push-over. Being honest may prevent him from getting laid for a couple months and we can't have that.
He is a truly nice guy and he will let this girl walk all over him because she is willing to sleep with him.

And yeah, she is Bat**** crazy!

Is he honestly that desperate to get laid?

Can't brain. Has dumb.
I thoroughly dislike any pre-made cigs. I prefer to roll my own.

To pay me back I had a friend pick me up a pack of those and was confused at first when I say that, because till then I was smoking Crush. That's the first thing I call them 'super Menthol' lol
I don't know too many people that do crush the ball in the menthols. I think it's great, and kinda reminds me of the menthol kick Salem Silver labels use to have. Does anyone know what happened to those? They quit making them before I turned 18 so I didn't get to smoke that many of them. If they sold those again I would probably become a full time smoker again.
