COL 2:16 And The Sabbath - Are You Being Told The Truth?

Why does it need to address your point?
Because you were responding to my point. If you’re going to respond to my point, don’t you think that a response should be pertinent??

You do not believe God is in control of his Word I do.
Non sequitur. I want to know precisely what you mean by “God’s word.”

I do not believe what you teach and neither do I think it is biblical as all your trying to teach is to do away with the scriptures in order to follow the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of God and faith in the scriptures which I believe is essential to salvation
Nope. That’s not what I teach. If that’s what you think I’m teaching, you need to reexamine your perceptions.

I gave you my response seems you did not like it. Do you mean to tell me you do not know what God's Word is and you paid to go to seminary? :)

So in your view you believe it was ok for the ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH to pusecute and kill any one that did not believe the same as them?
The rest of your post was merely extrapolation from a misdirection. We weren’t discussing the morality of the Church’s actions by our standards. We were discussing who it was that was persecuted by the Church. You have yet to reply to my point.

Nonsense I used the bibles definition or where faith comes from. Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen. By believeing and following God's Word is how we demonstrate faith :)
No. You didn’t. You’re just vomiting passages. Your last sentence does not follow from the one preceding it. Therefore, the passage isn’t cogent to your last sentence. In fact, we demonstrate faith by far different means than “believing the Bible.” Have you read Isaiah 58?

Asked and answered. By definition, a heretic cannot be a Christian. The Roman church persecuted heretics, not Christians, and certainly not Christian martyrs.

By definition, the Roman church taught no heresy, because, at that time, the church wasn’t “Roman.” It was the Church, and the Church was orthodox. You don’t get to change what is and is not orthodoxy, just because you disagree with it. If you disagree, that would make you the heretic, not the Church.

Sorry this is babble that cannot be proven biblically so does not mean much to me. Let me know if you can prove your claims via scripture. The post you were responding to is directly relevant as it shows that all through time Gods' people have been called heretics by the heretics and of the devil by those who were following the devil. I guess you did not get that point. Read it again as I think you did not pick up on what the post was talking about :)

Your Post #992:
Indeed, the bible says All scripture I believe it and I believe God put in there for a reason. It seems you do not. Now let me ask you a simple question. Do you not believe the NT scriptures are inspired by God because if you apply your reaonsing to Timothy you have to apply it to all the NT scriptures. Can you see where your argument is leading? Yet it is the very word of God that teaches if you do not believe God's Word you cannot have faith and if you have no faith it is impossible to please God and you have no salvation

I already answered post 992. You responded to that answer by posting the same thing again. Repetition =/= “demonstration of the veracity of the post.” Please post a real response to my answer to post 992.

I see yet here you are not able to prove anything your talking about in relation to the scriptures. Does this not worry you? :)

Prove it. Please get your fact right before posting :)

The church went after heretics.. not Christians..

The Roman Empire on the other hand rarely interfered in the beliefs of the people.. They just wanted them to pay their taxes.

Not really. How can you demonstrate faith by not believing the bible when it is written faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God?

Your response didn’t address the point to which it was responding. Translation: your response is worthless to the topic under discussion. That’s what I “mean to tell you.” It has nothing to do with seminary. It has everything to do with your lack of real engagement.

Your heretics I call Christians. This is where protestantism came from. They left the church because the church was no longer following God's Word. This is demonstrated through the scriptures in post # 996 linked :)

This is more misdirection. This isn’t about “not believing the Bible.” It’s about establishing the fact that the apostles’ teaching encompasses more than just the written texts.

Nope, I did not misdirect anything. You made the claim you can get faith from other sources. I only posted the scriptures that disagree with you :)

What you choose to call them is immaterial. What they are in the view of those who set the parameters of orthodoxy is what matters. Your view of Protestantism is off. Take, for example, Anglicanism. Your reasoning simply doesn’t fit.

Oh so you want to learn about the persuctions of Christians from the Chatholic Church? Ok here you go click me and happy reading. Let me know if you need more references. There is many more than this one :)
I’ve already studied church history. Got high marks, too. I don’t need the Internet to tell me what I already know. You’re going to have to do much, much better with the burden of proof that is upon you.

Not really. It has everything to knowing God's Word and understanding what the scriptures teach. This is my point as this is the only place anyone can find God and their salvation. :)
