Condemning homosexuality

Perhaps they aren't all morons, but it is still a moronic line of thinking, which was more my point. I could have worded it better, but I hadn't had my morning cup of tea when I originally posted. :p
And I shouldn't have been supercilious either; I can't remember when I wrote that - maybe I hadn't had my cup of tea yet!:D

Seriously,

My view of the 'average' human being (and I know there isn't one) is pretty low. I just realized that I could use the same philosophy on this as the one I do when driving a car............ie "Drive as if every other car on the road is being driven by a completely idiotic, egotistical & ignorant fool; that way, you can forsee even the most idiotic of moves by others ":(

Unfortunately, no, it wouldn't be. You'd hear things...
You're right. We'd certainly hear a lot of noise from them. What I was going for was that none of that noise would form a cogent answer to the question.

Perhaps a different question is in order. How is attacking homosexuality going to strentghen heterosexual marriage?

One other little caveat I'd like to throw out. In the US, polls show that the majority of people are not ready to accept SSM and many of them don't have a positive view of gays. Do we really think that calling them 'morons' is going to encourage them to change their minds or is it more likely to make them 'dig in their heels' and steel their opposition?:help:

...Some people just grab an idea and sprint with it....
This is very true, and there are some minds that cannot be changed. I offer myself as proof that some can be.:)

About the West High School’s Gay-Straight Alliance being protested?

Fred Phelps.

I would love to see that stupid self-righteous *mumbles* thrown in jail- and Canada will do it if he drags his sorry butt across their border again.

Not all of it wanted. But in doing so, the alliance captured unwanted attention — from the rabidly anti-gay Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kan., led by Pastor Fred Phelps, whose congregation of roughly 100 consists mainly of close relatives.
He has about 13 kids- and god knows how many grandkids now.

This man is mentally ill, he beats his wife and children ( he struck his oldest sons 300 TIMES with a mattock handle)- causing permenate damage to them, he commits crimes without being punished for them, he threatens and assaults everyone who doesn't bend to his will- including police officers.

He is a sick, sick man.

You better stop talking about him before I really blow my top. Just reading about him makes me feel dirty, like I've touched something nasty. Ugh ugh ugh

But remember, Prima, it's those dirty **** that God hates! Not those who hurt others and spread hate.

I could care less who you sleep with, or what you believe. Personally I believe that homosexuality is not right, but that's just me and I choose to be friendly to everyone regardless of their sexual preferences (except for paedophiles). However, as sad as these protesters are, I don't think it is appropriate to talk about burning anyone at the stake. Especially when they are only doing something that they have the constitution right to do (even though most people would consider their hatred disgusting). I mean, tolerance goes both ways, doesn't it?

No, it does not. We have laws precisely because there are some things that society does not tolerate.
Okay, let me rephrase. Tolerance of those things that are not against the law goes both ways, doesn't it?

It depends on what you mean. I "tolerate" many things as the necessary cost of civil liberties. That in no way means that I am "tolerant" of those attitudes.
