Connection of the Meccan Deity Hubal to Hinduism?

Just curious, because when I typed in Hubal on google, Hindu and Muslim websites came up claiming Hubal, the chief deity of the Kabba, was somehow related to Hinduism. Is this true? Maybe you could provide resources for why or why not? Thank you

This goes back to the old debate that at one time the Kabba contained murties and other artifacts from Hinduism. There have been attempts to link the actual black stone to that of a Shiv Ling. Also I've heard that plates from the Kabba had inscriptions on them from some Indian kings. Whether or not any of this is true is up for debate. I haven't seen any good scholarly research to prove such claims. Although the similarities are interesting.

IMO,There is no way to prove this claim .

The black stone housed at the Kabba, the focal point of prayer for Muslims is believed to have been sent to earth as sign of God's presence (or something similar but Muslims would have to confirm the background story.) A Shiv Ling is a smooth stone set inside a base that represents the creative energy of Shiva. It's the unification of opposites: male and female. They come together so that life may be created.

Regarding the deities of the pre-Islamic Arab region and their connection to Hinduism, it is possible, but I think if there was a Hindu-influence, it would be a more syncretic merger between Hinduism and Arab-Semitic polytheism, how the Greeks and Egyptian deities began to merge in some ways, for example, Zeus Ammon.

However, I don't have enough knowledge on the subject, like the appearances of the deities and their roles, to say yes or no for sure. Without it, it's just speculation, I guess.

Well some Egyptian deities seeped into Meccan worship too, to my understanding Odion. Some scholars say Al Uzza is Isis and her consort is Osiris.

That wouldn't surprise me - The Arab regions are a crossroads. They were probably constantly taking in new ideas, Byzantine, Egyptian, Semitic, Hindu, Zoroastrian, Christian, Jewish, anything that came their way.

Not that I'm aware of. However, Hubal is often associated with the crescent moon as is Lord Shiva.
