I'm not biting this red herring, linwood. The Terry Schiavo case isn't even in the same league as the OP.

True, it's not in the same league but it is a part of the same topic albeit in a different direction.

You made a positive statement declaring that the rights of the individual concerning his own literal life should be subjected to the will of society.
I have pointed out in strong philosophical terms why your stance is inherently unethical and unjustifiable.
You have yet to counter my argument with anything substantial.
You have injected no "reasonable doubt"into my assertion.

Again,my assertion is that this life is mine and mine alone and ethically I am the only being who should have any power over what I decide to do with it.

I guess we're just gonna have to agree to disagree. You say the decision lies with the individual, I say the individual should not make decisions at society's expense. To each his own.
