Apparently there is a 64 km long convoy of Russian soldiers and vehicles heading to Kiev. That is quite a lot to be honest.

It may end up as a siege. The Russians will possibly surround Ukrainan cities to starve them out. That's bad because it means civilian casualties from lack of food, medical care and good water.

I don't know if we can repeat the Berlin air drop for all of Ukraine this time.

I hope every Russian soldier in the convoy has a bag of seeds in his pocket. It would help beautify the land.

I don't know, its difficult they are humans after all, these are humans as well and also quite young. Again, im not 100% sure they are as informed about what they hell is going on as people might think.

This are some Russian soldiers that have been captured. Obviously we can't know if they are being told or threaten to say what they do. But keep in mind its not the first time, Russian soldiers have been send out not really sure why or what they are doing, as far as I know.

The following is text I think is the second guy in the video.

The Telegram channel, which first went live on Saturday, has posted numerous videos and photos showing captured Russian troops, which have led to an outcry from their families who say they were shocked to find out about the involvement of their loved ones in the invasion of Ukraine.

The Guardian spoke to three family members who confirmed the identity of Paktishev and said they were shocked and angry when they found out after seeing the video that their loved one had been captured.
“I was sent the video of my brother captured at 2am last night. I was completely shocked. I had no idea that he was fighting in there,” said Yelena Polivtseva, the sister of Paktishev.

In the video, Paktishev, from the small town of Mezdhurechenskiy in western Siberia, said he led a team of three other snipers.

“I knew Leonid was in the military, but I had no idea that he was sent to Ukraine. I don’t think he would have been aware of it either,” said Polivtseva, who went by her maiden name.

Russia has so far not commented on the videos released and has revealed very little information about the state of its soldiers fighting in Ukraine. The Russian ministry of defence on Sunday evening for the first time admitted that there were “dead and wounded soldiers amongst our
comrade”,
but added that “the number of destroyed [Ukrainian] nationalists by far outweigh” the number of Russian casualties.

Asked about her brother’s involvement in Russia’s unprovoked invasion into Ukraine, Polivtseva said she was not “competent” to judge the decision of our “commander-in-chief”. But she said she hoped the fighting would end. “No one needs this, not Ukraine and not Russia. I believe we can come to an agreement through peaceful means so that our sons, brothers and husbands don’t die.”

Polivtseva said she last talked to her brother over the new year holiday. She had also sent him a birthday message on social media on Thursday, the day the invasion started and he turned 28.

“I saw he was not online and got a bit worried then. Now am so so worried, I haven’t slept all night, my children are crying, our mother is in a critical state.”

Again, obviously they might be manipulated, but still war sucks *** for everyone involved.

I was reading a message a Russian solider sent home to his mom after being caught in Ukraine. It was read in the United Nations Security Council. He said that they were told they were going into the Ukraine to liberate them from the Nazis and that the citizens were waiting for them with open arms, and that everyone started to fight them, even the citizens. That he didn't know what was going on.

If those Russians are going into Ukraine with that mindset, with those lies, it is no wonder they are taking such huge losses. They weren't prepared for what they were supposed to do. What happens when that column of soldiers if they're as uninformed as the first meet Ukrainian resistance? A lot of wasted lives.

Yeah heard that one as well, obviously one have to be very careful believing these things as we obviously don't know what happens when the camera is not on. A lot of Ukrainian might have a lot of hate towards the Russians and hate can be pretty nasty as we know.

Without a doubt. I very rarely share information I receive or gather for that very fact. I'm pretty confident on this one. If it is false though, I'll happily remove it and recant.

They do have the option to refuse to fight.
Yes, there will be consequences, but those
pale in comparison to the evil they'd do
killing Ukrainians.

I wouldn't worry about that, I think people are smart enough to figure out, that it might be the case. :D

Its not an excuse in anyway, what they do is wrong. But if its true, it does say something about the society and how things are done in Russia. And if the soldiers are not really informed about what the hell they are doing there, it could also explain why they struggle so much, obviously just me speculating. But I do think they did not expect the Ukrainians to fight back as much as they do and also that they are better equipped than the Russian might have expected.

Putin ‘propaganda chief’ threatens West with destruction as nukes put on alert
Excerpted...
VLADIMIR Putin's "propaganda chief" has threatened the West with nuclear annihilation during a rambling broadcast on Russian TV.

News anchor Dmitry Kiselyov told viewers across Russia’s 11 time zones that the West would be blown to smithereens with "more than 500 nuclear warheads" if it continued to threat Moscow.

The bonkers threat comes as Putin ordered his nuclear forces be put on high alert and are now "combat ready".

Speaking on national TV, the deranged presenter warned: "Our submarines can shoot more than 500 nuclear warheads.

“This would guarantee destruction of the USA, and all other NATO countries."

Kiselyov appeared to back his argument with the crackpot principle that if Russia wasn't part of the globe then "why do we need the world?"

Continuing his diatribe, Kiselyov threatened: "Russia’s nuclear arms are delivered by the world’s fastest strategic bombers.

"That’s without even mentioning Russian Strategic Missile Forces.

"The Russian nuclear potential is the strongest in the world.

"Today our Russian Nuclear Triad is on the high alert.

"Putin did warn [the West]. Do not try to scare Russia."

In his Vesti Nedeli weekly news show on state-run Rossiya 1 channel, Putin's propaganda chief blamed the UK's foreign secretary Liz Truss for seeking to "intimidate" Russia.

He claimed Putin made the decision of "utmost importance" to put his nuclear forces on alert as the West imposed alleged “illegitimate” sanctions and NATO issued "aggressive statements".

He chided Truss for reportedly saying a conflict between Russia and NATO could emerge from the crescent Ukrainian crisis.

"A conflict between Russia and NATO over Ukraine - nothing like this has been said before," he said.

But Russia’s nuclear capability with new-age "superweapons" like "hypersonic Tsirkon" were more than a match for the West’s capability, he said.

The bizarre tirade forms part of a media offensive from the Kremlin in which it depicts Ukrainian fighters as Nazis and Russian forces as a liberating force.

Dmitry Kiselev, another of the Kremlin's raging TV propagandists, accused German chancellor Olaf Scholz of "solidarity with the genocide of today" - parroting Putin's unfounded claim that Russian speakers in Ukraine were being killed en masse.

On another Russian state TV show, host Olga Skabeyeva said: "You know, as they retreat, the Ukrainian Nazis continue to destroy Donbas.

"Today Zhelobok was shelled with Grad multiple rocket launchers. Yesterday the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched Tochka ballistic missiles at an oil facility."

The prolonged campaign of misinformation is trying to convince Russians that the conflict was provoked by the West.

The threat came hours after Russia's defence minister said the country's nuclear forces were locked and loaded and ready for combat.

Sergei Shoigu said Russia's Strategic Missile Forces, the Northern and Pacific Fleets, and the long-range aviation command were now ready to annihilate the West in an apocalyptic nuclear war.

Analyst: Putin 'does not play the bluffing game' - CNN Video

It could look very bad, because im not sure he is willing or capable of backing off, I don't think he is a person that like or ever admits defeat or that he is wrong.

I don't know if he is deranged, but the message is clear and factual, no bluffing here

Good to read that Putin plays no favoritism

Let's hope the Western leaders are not crazy, and dismiss it as fake news or bluff

Highlighting the key point. In other words, stop aiding Ukraine or we'll nuke you.

If people don't think this is as bad as the Cuban Missile Crisis, they're not paying attention. I lived through that and thought I was going to die horribly. The actions of one person prevented an unimaginable catastrophe.

I pray it does not happen this time.
