Creating a hell with science

I think technology can be used to create a fake reality that people could be put in to try to destroy problems of reality. I think by putting kids in hells and letting them hurt others and think that they are getting what they want and not giving them those things to the extent that they want and when they stop harming others they get out of hell. There would be a deterrent to others in reality from harming others. I personally would create a hell with science.

Well, Not all religions believe that there is a physical Heaven or Hell. For Bahá’ís, the concepts of Heaven and Hell are allegories for nearness and remoteness from God. When we die, the condition of our souls determines our experience of the afterlife. Heaven and Hell are not physical places, but spiritual realities.

you might still be a child in my hell till you stop harming people with ideas that others have given you that you have not thought about individually and questioned. Without evolving into a better person from experence you might be hurting me and if you are then you might be in my hell.

Im sorry, but I find this a little disturbing. Are you saying that we should make a virtual reality that resembles a concept of Hell and then place children in it?

I think the child should be born into the hell. I think stopping the suffering of others and showing children that harming others could stop them from getting what they want.

How about just teaching the kid that violence is negative and that it causes suffering to others? You know, something that wont psycologically hurt a child. In keeping a child from hurting another child, your going to have them be born in a virtual hell?

Thats sick, that child will have so many problems and will probably want to be violent. If you were to be raised in a virtual hell, you will probably be violent, not non-violent. Being born in such an environment doesnt spawn peace and happiness.

i would not let them out till they are improving the universe.

And are you perfect? Have you not killed a bug or harmed a human (mentaly or physically), remember violence isnt just physical? Do not not ever get angry, or anything like that? None of us are perfect, and because of that NO CHILD SHOULD BE BORN IN A VIRTUAL HELL. Even though its not real, it will severly effect their minds because they dont know its not real. The basis of this, or the intention is good, but the way you are going about this is very negatively. Its like putting a dog in a room of vaccums and expecting them to be fine and happy and not aggressive afterwards when in reality they will have more problems then they did before.

I do the best from the information i have so i guess i am perfect from the information i have. I think children can get through hell. I think lots of religions teach that people are not in reality.

Many religions do teach that we are stuck in a religion-like existence, but it still causes suffering. If many people spend whole lifetimes trying to get out of illusions, what makes you thinks a child can do it in a few years?

I am not necissarily agaisnt you, I am just playing Devils Advocate :fork:

At first I was horrified at your suggestion, but then I realized "Well, isn't that basically what many religious people say our life on Earth is?" It's basically a testing ground where we learn (or not) how to be good-- or so a common reply to the PoE goes.

I think the designer can make the decisions about time and pleasure and pain. Maybe they are a religious leader who only has pleasure but has never had the amount of pleasure they want.

And you feel that this would be a good thing? That human beings, kids, would be at the whim and mercy of whoever is in control?

Since the idea of virtual hell has popped up a couple of times, I have to ask, why? If you have a virtual reality, most motivations to "sin" are rendered moot.

if they hurt the child unnecessary then they would be showing that maybe they themselves are in a hell
Then how could you ever have a director for a hell that wouldn't be in hell himself? The whole concept of a hell is the infliction, or at least the allowance, of suffering.
