Where is the State of Perpetual Apathy? This is the most awesome of cults and should be on any cult watch list, if any one actually cares.

InformedIgnorance

Do you 'know' or believe?
I believe that with the sole exclusion of the Worship of InformedIngorance any theological position is a cult, a true abomination that is subjectively inferior to the truly enlightened Worship of InformedIngnorance (which by the way should never be written in shorthand) and therefore not worthy of even being called a religion at all, instead they should be called cults to denote their inferiority to Worship of InformedIgnorance and maybe one or two other religions that the majority of practitioners deem to be similar enough to Worship of InformedIgnorance or else inoffensive enough to the majority of practitioners of the Worship of InformedIngorance that they are deemed acceptable to be labelled a religion.

There is a great quote out there about the difference between religion and cults but I cannot recall who said it, the best that comes to mind are:
A cult is a religion with no political power. - Tom Wolfe
What's a cult? It just means not enough people to make a minority. - Robert Altman

There are only two differences between a cult and a religion, how much money and how many guns do they have. - Me

One could consider all religions to be Cults.
But then the category becomes useless in any discussion.
To be useful cults need to be considered and listed by type.

Exclusive Christian cults...
Blood cults...
Magic cults...
Science fiction cults...

Even then... to their members all cults seem reasonable. (and some certainly are)

I consider the following to be cults. Does anyone know about them and consder them to be cults as well?

This is not a post by a fundamentalist Christian, but it sure sounds like one.

I have a lot of respect for Christian spirituality, but I am appalled at the simplistic, uneducated notions put forward by some Christians. Fundamentalist Christians have redefined the word "cult" to refer only to heterodox belief systems. I guess that's okay if you only talk to people who share your belief system; but if your intention is to speak English with people in general, you should know that the word "cult" does not apply to heterodox belief systems only, any more than the word "myth" refers only to narratives that are untrue.

Ignorance does no credit to those who seem to glory in it. Grow up. Please.
