Oh dear . . .

No more Chinese food.

No more sushi.

No more Guinness.

No more phở.

No more tacos.

No more tea.

No more coffee.

No more Michael Jackson.

The cat's a Himalayan.

My clogs are from Denmark.

Where does it end?

I'm lucky that Hawaiian shirts were developed for the tourist trade (non-ethnic white folk).
Sure, they started off with Japanese kimono cloth, but they were intended for us!
Because I be the kind'o laddy who don't be culturally appropriate'n.
This is bizarre. I only wear Hawaiian shirts, even in the winter.

Guess I'm really getting old. What's with this "Cultural Appropriation"

Just wondering why the black student is wearing clothing that is not attributed to attire worn in Africa?
In addition does she not know that "dreadlocks" is not unique to Africa, as a matter of fact it is speculated that it came from Egypt or India.

Oh, by the way how about all of you wearing cowboy hats or boots that do not work as ranch hands knock it off. I can think of thousand of items that would fall in the "Cultural Appropriation" realm.

To tell you the truth I'm getting sick and tired of all of this type crap.
At last we agree on something: this "cultural appropriation" fad is a load of rubbish.

I am sick of it too. Minority rights (often supported by the left) can be taken to the point of wrapping around and infringing the freedom of others.
To be fair, most of us lefties understand there is a limit to such things. Obviously, the story in the OP is over the top and the assailant was in the wrong.

Am I wrong to suspect that this kind of thing is pretty rare and when it does occur it's widely condemned?
So far as I know, that's pretty much the gist of it.

Seems that it is more common than even I thought, and it isn't limited to the U.S.

Then we have certain political sources with certain political ideology going after their favorite target.

I read the article and according to various witnesses the woman was handing out leaflets and the dreadlocks guy called her a b**ch for some reason. This was before the point when filming the incident began. So maybe she was just really p**sed off.

While wearing my turban, I shall write a reggae song outlining why my dreadlocks and Nehru jacket, which I always wear when driving at 8 miles an hour in the left lane (nod to the Asians there), are not really cultural appropriation. Oh, then I'm putting on cowboy boots and abrogating the voting rights of someone who is off-white. Who's with me?
