Curious question (contains some sense)

Indecency is a picture of a plane plowing into a skyscraper, a KKK lynching, a clearcut rainforest, a camp full of impoverished refugees from any of dozens of conflicts.

A little skin? -- Puh-leeeze! It's hard to believe people actually become incensed at something so mundane and ordinary as a glimpse of butt or breast!

That is SO getting fruballed.

These butt and breast we were born with. Why have them if they offend? how boring would it be if we were all flat like a piece of gum?

also on this note, I do not see anything wrong with this pic. I shall link to it, so it is not up on the board in the case of offensiveness. No nudity or sexual activity is depicted.

Now, this pic depicts lesbianism. There is nothing wrong with lesbianism. But people would still find it offensive. Why?

Because of the taboo of homosexuality. And also that anime is a cartoon and many see cartoons as being in the realm of children, and while it may not be porno (i don't think it is) they are wearing pretty revealing stuff in some of these shows that aren't appropriate for some children.

Then there is anime porn or "hentai" which my friends, mainly the chicks, are all obsessed with. Personally i don't get it, it's just too wierd to be a turn on.

Hentai is dusgusting IMO. One thing to look at the anime girls, but another to see them fullnude and doing dirty things.:tsk:

I just like looking at the girls.

It's both. It certainly doesn't make me um..aroused in the slightest.

In Japanese, the word hentai means metamorphosis, abnormality, or sexual perversion. It is never used to refer to "normal" sexual activity, or to adult manga or other entertainment that is merely sexually explicit.

"while it may not be porno... they are wearing some pretty revealing stuff."

What is this obsession with "revealing?' Does it cause some kind of psychological damage merely to view certain body parts?

Clothing styles vary around the world, especially in non-westernized, "aboriginal" societies. In tropical countries varying degrees of what we would consider nudity are the norm. This produces no psychological damage. There is no intrinsically shocking style of dress. People are shocked only at what they are taught to be shocked at. A parent's discomfort with certain images (which the child sees as perfectly ordinary) WARPS the child.

Everyone knows what people look like under their clothes. It's not a mystery. Our society's "reveal but hide" fashions, emphasizing features from which we must politely avert our eyes are designed solely to titillate. Styles our society tolerates would be shocking to the "naked savages" of the tropics. How bizarre is that?!

Get over it! We all have bodies; we all know what they look like. It's all yawningly mundane. The controversy is entirely contrived; it's as insubstantial as smoke!

I am aware of aboriginal clothing, I lived in NorthWest QLD.

Oh and it's not me saying it's wrong, Seya. Just fighting for rights.

Perhaps I'm too old, or too far away from the US, but I don't understand what you're talking about. I have looked at the few links that display images, and find them perfectly harmless and uninteresting.

SoulTYPE's link in # 26 looks to me like sisters posing for a picture at the beach. Obvious lesbianism? Where's your head at?

I'm not sure why anyone would object to the picture of the single female. I've seen young girls on the street with far less clothing. As for the picture of the two together, again...they're wearing more clothes than I've seen on some of our public beaches so what's the big deal? Lesbian? Well, ok...if you say so but I would never have gotten that just from the two women hugging.

I suppose some might call them sexually titillating, but I know a man who thinks women in sweatsuits would fit that description. It's all in the eye of the beholder.

I don't think it's for children though.
