To sum up – do you think I would spend valuable time and effort reading materials on Hinduism I strongly suspect are founded on an untrue premise (i.e. they were supernaturally inspired)?

My personal belief is that, Hinduism in its core is esentially not supernatural, but more philosophical. I cannot argue this with scripture. My belief in the supernatural existence of God is 100%, and no-one can change that.

But then, you are assuming that it is an untrue premise, and you will never know until you research.

And, good luck Scientology is probably the worst excuse to steal money...

I suppose untrue premise would be too strong. I should have said something like taking the neutral position but I don’t think it has the right connotation since it implies equal likelihood either way.

Just don’t go around making demonstrably untrue claims regarding the physical world and you’ll do fine against Dawkins.

I am a bit slow (and a bit young), but by this you mean, when i said no-one can change my belief in God?

Yeah, I suppose you are right... No-one can claim such things for sure, but I think I can.

Dawkins is like most atheists to me, cannot disprove any religion except Christianity.

It is not that simple in the case of religion. Religion has some concrete stuff, scriptures for one. Theists can use it to their advantage, but atheists can use it to their disadvantage too.

The atheist claims to have logic and rational thought in their mind. They have already won before it starts. Apparently.

Except this thread has nothing to do with Dawkins attempting to disprove religion. It is about "memes"-- his concept of how ideas are like genes, in that they get replicated, passed on to future generations, mutate, and evolve.
