I just received this email from a great organization I have been involved with for decades.

I can't help but wonder what difference there would have been in the election if the DNC spent a dollar or two on educating the public on this kind of danger, which is now imminent? Border, inflation, etc., etc., but what about the biosphere? Oh well, who needs that!

I can't help but wonder what difference there would have been in the election if the DNC spent a dollar or two on educating the public on this kind of danger, which is now imminent? Border, inflation, etc., etc., but what about the biosphere? Oh well, who needs that!

You seem to be suggesting that we can't treat the planet as both an endless resource and a giant toilet. Trump is but a symptom of the greater problem - which is that 70+ million people voted for him. Without Trump they would simply have voted for some other... er... similar person.

The actions of the DEC in regard to Peanut is inexcusable. But I am talking about much bigger issues here, such as specie extinction, climate change, the acidification of the oceans, etc., etc.

I mean, there is a correlation between someone who is okay with (and has been found guilty of) raping women and someone who is okay of raping mother earth. They're abusers with abusive mentalities.

Unfortunately true.

While there is some remarkable momentum behind doing the right thing, we are already locked in to significant shifts in ecological and climatological systems. Ironically, border security - which at present genuinely is a nonissue - will become a severe issue as these impacts grow worse. Environmental changes are the number one cause of all species migrations, including humans. If the GoP was actually serious about border issues it wouldn't be ignoring the fact that it's an environmental issue. Or killing border security bills to play games for that matter.

When it's all said and done, none of this will matter. Humans will extinct themselves and life will move on.

I haven't kept up on it as much since I'm no longer an active research scientist in that field, but the data from a decade ago was pretty grim and depressing. On the upshot, if one remembers to take a geologic view of time all things run in cycles. It's just unforgivably tragic (to my mind) for a so-called "rational" animal to be responsible for this.

The Left is still being disingenuous. The DNC has set up the EPA, and many other Government Agencies to bypass the Constitution. According to the Constitution, only Congress can make new laws. However, due what was called the Chevron Doctrine, the EPA has been able to make many laws and regulations, outside any vote by Congress. The rationalization was those in EPA were better suited to wade through the weeds and make science decisions.

However, the EPA morphed into its own growth model, based on its own agenda. Not all those laws are made for the environment, but many for the Agency growth. Many are ways to extort money from businesses to grow the EPA. These stand in the way of economy growth; Socialist agenda.

As an example of the shady laws, there was a recent Supreme Court case that involved small fishermen having to pay to have an EPA observer on their boats. The fishermen had to pay his salary, with a small business not needing a useless employee; not helping with the fishing, at EPA pay grade. The EPA was shaking down these small businesses, as a way to get money beyond Congressional approval. The Supreme Count found that they over stepped, the right to impose taxes, in the form of their regulation; DNC law fare.

The Trump team wants a clean environment. But Trump also wants of get rid of the law fare side of the EPA, and all laws not formally approved by Congress. This will also be done to other Agencies, geared to be like the environmental law fare model.

I tried to Google search how many pages of EPA regulation there are, but this is now sanitized. The top search popped up, seven regulations, which was the EPA Agency platform. Google will not give it up; orders from the swamp. It must be really bad and dismantling it will set back the radial left many generations of scams. We need civil servants, and not environmental overlords, who can by pass the Constitution. Elon Musk sees $2 Trillion in savings by restructuring the Government to be more lean, efficient and more accommodating.

Fossil fuels is what will turn around the economy. The goal is $2/gallon gasoline again. The USA will be an energy exporting, at lower prices to help the rest of the world. All prices will fall, since energy is a part of each step in the supply chain. The extra money in the pockets of everyone, then cause the economy to expand; jobs, salaries, etc. This is all without taxes or borrowing money. This jump start need fossil fuels. This will impact the environment, is a few places, but this can be managed with the laws on the books.

The new job of the EPA should be to find solutions, on sight, and not just be the police with no skills besides extortion and writing tickets. The EPA needs more applied scientists who can help business meet the needs of the environment. The ideal EPA would sends in crack teams, to protect the environment and help the economy. They can help over come problems, that can harm the environment, while finding solution to allow business to move forward. In my younger days that was what I did for DOE nuclear contractors. I had little experience in environmental, since but I was innovative for both the environment and business needs; new state of the art.
