We haven't done to well with the politicians in office the last decade.
Freaks & clowns could be a vast improvement over boobs (not the good kind of boobs) & cretins.

I'm all for throwing the bums out, but when you throw the bums out, you have to be careful whom you throw in. The Tea Party wants to go from bad to worse.

Sharron Angle, Joe Miller, Christine O'Donnell, Ken Buck, Rick Scott, Marco Rubio, Carl Paladino -- no mentally competent person would support any of them for dogcatcher, much less for high office.

To your list, we could add: Harry Reid, Barack Obama, John McCain, John Kerry, Barney Frank, etc, etc, etc.
Teaphobia should not blind us to the idiocy of others.

Much as I dislike all the people you named, none of them are comparable to the Tea Party candidates. Even Newt Gingrich and Zell Miller weren't comparable to the Tea Party candidates.

You keep trying to pretend that, really, the Tea Party is no more extreme or outlandish than any other group, and that's simply not true. The candidates they've managed to force onto the Republican Party are truly exceptional for stupidity and insanity. There hasn't been a political freak show like this in my lifetime.

You keep trying to pretend that.....
I pretend nothing....except in jest, & this is a serious matter.
I find Tea Partiers generally no worse than mainstream Republicans & Democrats. (Actually, Obama, Pelosi & Frank I see as far worse.)
You & I have different views & weighting on issues, that's all.
Well, of course I'm also much more learned, objective & intelligent. But you got me beat on looks, personality & pure animal charm. Curse you.

I would say you are inconstant regarding libertarianism. You seem to be all over the Dems when they step in to issues of economic freedoms, but look the other way when the GOP wants to walk all over our personal freedoms. Is it possable to take away someone's card caring libertarian credentials and replace it with a main stream GOP ID.

Pish posh & balderdash! I was one of the first to call Bush a socialist & decry his massive expansion of gov't within his first year in office.
I've consistently opposed the wars he started & erosion of our freedom by excesses of bogus security theater. I'm the only one in this forum
to decry Bush's back door tax increases by IRS directives. I've blamed Republican cooperation with Democrats in causing the real estate crash.
You're just not reading all my posts....or perhaps you notice that which affects (rankles) you most. Another factor is that when Dubya was prez,
I was posting my fulmations against him elsewhere. Obama & the Dems have been fully in charge since I came here in March, so for that reason
alone they will see more of my poison pen.....tis "current events" focus. Hey, should I get credit for not dissing Clinton as much as Dubya?

One area where my libertarianism is in doubt: Libertarianism is founded upon rational self interest, but recreational drugs are at odds with that.
I favor legalization, but I'm not sure how well it will turn out in the US. It might require a pragmatic compromise of some sort.
