Disciple of Pan
Neither identifying problems within a particular religion nor identifying a troubled place of origin outside our great nation of America is racism. ....
It is when attention is called specifically to race or ethnicity in order to associate that particular group with the problem. "Latin America has a problem with violence" is different than "brown skinned homicidal Central Americans." In that case you needlessly identify brown skin with violence, which is an incorrect association and unnecessary in the context. Saying "Homicidal people in Central America" is sufficient to identifying violence in Central America.
Pointing out that COVID-19 originated in China every single time you talk about it by identifying it in the title needlessly associates the virus with Chinese people. It is 1) already established that it started in China, and 2) it solves nothing to do so.
If you want to suggest the Chinese government could have responded differently, then say so. If you want to suggest they shouldn't sell bats in open air markets, do so. But associating ethnicity with the virus is simply racist.
