How does he possibly think he can win? This is clearly a First Amendment issue. I think he KNOWS that Florida is in play because of Republicans stripping women's rights away.

Winning isn't important, as with Trump it is scaring people and avoiding judgement. If he can scare a few people, then they are misinformed and so what if they slap his ?? after the election. It is the Republican strategy in everything lately. Nothing about principles only fear.

They sued because the advertisements were promoting falsehoods about the law putting women in danger. I thought the left was good with that, remember twitter crackdown about Covid info. But keep talking about how you protect women’s rights, just not women’s rights in the womb.

That ads have to be fact checked before airing.

Florida government finds fault with abortion ballot measure over ads and petitions
Florida's government has threatened TV stations over an ad promoting an abortion-rights ballot measure and is now alleging fraud in petitions to get it before voters.
The state said it could invoke a “sanitary nuisance” law and initiate criminal proceedings against the station.

In the court documents, the judge ruled that “political advertisement is political speech — speech at the core of the First Amendment.”
“To keep it simple for the State of Florida: it’s the First Amendment, stupid,” the court documents read.
The documents said that “this Court is persuaded that an injunction, at this juncture, would not be adverse to the public interest.”
The injunction prevents Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo from “taking any further actions to coerce, threaten, or intimate repercussions directly or indirectly to television stations, broadcasters, or other parties for airing” the group’s speech, or “undertaking enforcement action.” The other defendant named is the health department’s former general counsel, John Wilson.
The restraining order is in effect through Oct. 29, when the judge will hold a hearing on whether to grant a longer pause.
