Desire for more out of life

I am falling short of my expectations and not meeting my goals. I could be doing so much more but I am lacking the essential ingredient required for productivity. There is disagreement with those in authority about what constitutes perfection or even excellence. As the days go by the absence is felt. No amount of words seem to convince those in authority of my perfection in that state of mind. The evidence is laid bare for all to see but they seem to have a hard time accepting it as a possibility.

Perhaps those in authority have higher standards for "perfection in state of mind". If you indeed have attained this perfected state of mind, you should be able to predict the objections and proactivley address them.

Otherwise... it's just a pipe dream o_O:cool:

I suspect the essential ingredient that you are missing is hard work and study.

Also, you just might not be as good at things as you think you are.

Don't worry about being perfect. Just be a perfect you. If you require something outside of yourself to achieve something, it was never really all you from the get go.

Sounds like you're in the wrong environment.

No offense to anyone, here, but if someone "in authority" came at me spouting off about perfection I'd soon be telling them where they could shove their silly perfection fantasies. :)

Yes, better to be fired or to find a new place than to suffer under a foolish 'authority'.

Nothing my eye, Something for sure
At some point doesn't everybody need to look outside themselves for input from successful people who know what they are doing? How many people are masters of their own destiny by going at it all alone?

If you do what you have always done you'll get what you always get.

The first question I ask myself is do I even know what it is I don't know about what I'm trying to do. That takes humility. It's way better than assuming to know, ignoring fundamentals, and diving into details.

What I need to do is improve my research methods.
