Destiny Players?

Are there any other Destiny players here?

My main is an Awoken Hunter that mainly is a Nightstalker.

My secondary character is a Awoken Warlock that mainly is a Voidwalker.

My tertiary character is a Exo Titan that mainly is a Striker or Defender.

My son still plays.

Beautiful world - missed the mark on story and immersion.
I gave up on it due to poor treatment of loyal customers.

I highly disagree.

The world has a lot of lore, philosophy, history, details, and stories. Immersion is fairly good for a MMO in my opinion.

Also what do you mean poor treatment of loyal customers?

It has plenty of lore, but unless something has changed not a lot of it was explained in game. One had to go to Bungie.net and view grimoire cards on their site. It was... poorly delivered, in my opinion. Tons of potential, and I was really excited for it, but it just seemed very lacking upon release.

I can get that, but while the game did not outright tell you the lore the began delivering it more subtlety in a lot of places, especially after the Taken King came out.

In all honesty, did you have any idea what was actually happening the first time you played it through, other than understanding that you were fighting the "darkness"?
Does the world have all of the richness that you hoped for without reading the Grimoire?

It's a fantastic shooter in a hollow world. That's a known thing with Destiny. It's not like I'm attacking you for liking it.

Expansions leaving old customers in the dust - retooling and reselling of weapons that had already been earned - leveling changes that devalued time spent in game... Things like that/. It's become the norm in the gaming industry - Bungie aren't the first company to do it. But it's still ****ty, regardless.

Lets be honest....Did you listen to the dialogue or did you ignore it?

Does the world have all of the richness that you hoped for without reading the Grimoire?

Oh sorry, I guess if you have to read or listen to anything it's not rich.

It's not realistic for you to have visually seen and interacted with everything that has ever gone on in the destiny universe.

No your just repeating the same drivel I have heard from so many others who do not understand how worldbulding should work.

So adding on to the story is bad....Right.....

It's not worth debating over.
Exactly.

My son and I started playing together at launch. We played until Rise of Iron was made unavailable for the older generation consoles. He still plays because he has an X-One - I do not because I do not game enough to warrant the investment. Based on nearly two years of play, I have opinions of the game that I did, in fact, think was incredible.

I would refer you to his gamertag were you guys on the same platform.

My main was an exo hunter when I first started - Gunslinger.
But I quickly became godlike when I switched to Warlock - Voidwalker. Combining Bad Juju at the time with Obsidian mind meant I had my super constantly ready. Shatter gave me a larger splash area on my nova bomb, making me an orb creating machine. Raid parties back then were the ****, especially in the Vault just before you head down to the Gorgon caves.

My warlock was my main until Taken King when I really loved the playstyle and lore behind the nighthunter. They are still pretty close though.
