Destroying fake Gods

Hi all,

I am not a believer or non believer in religion however I respect others beliefs. My son for the last year has become a Christian. A few months ago he destroyed all of my Buddha statues as he believed they were evil. My husband and I were very upset particularly with one that was given to us by my 90 year old mother.

Today I have just found our beautiful water feature destroyed. It was a type of Buddha and the only one left that was not destroyed previously.
I am so upset. I respect my sons beliefs however am upset that he does not respect my belongings or feelings about something that I own.

I feel so disappointed that his beliefs can bring on behaviour that will destroy someone elses property.

I would love your thoughts.

Sue him for damages? Banish him from your property and get a court order that keeps him away? Recognize that your son has no respect for your property or you as a person?

Do not just Believe 'Become', I am Sufficient.
'My son for the last year has become a Christian. '

barneyjj, I honor you, for being a wonderfully patient parent.

In my experience: after having been brought up as a christian, I set myself to study all aspects of christian/other religions. When I showed my christian relatives the evidence of my findings, I was permanently expelled from their company.

I have been reworded for my efforts to gain true knowledge, with my *personal power returned, and **experiential knowledge of the world of spirits which is what the dogmas of religion claim to provide their followers.
I would make lite of this phase and continue to encourage him to study all of the good aspects of life which can refocus a person's direction away from connections with dark agendas. I wish you and your son the best. :)

*as a young person, I was intimidated into worshiping god(s) outside of myself, which took away my personal power.

**a connection with the world of spirits and by extension a connection with god(s), is what I was promised by christian/other religions.
