is it related , very probably yes , almost certainly yes .....but as for the link between the above relating to Cernunnos , ...interesting but , ....
its a ram headed serpent not a cobra , ....and this depiction is not from England it is Danish , it is considdered Celtic not nececarily Druid ?....Druids here are considered the Brahmins of the Celtic race , ...the knowledge holders , the astrologers , the seers and diviners , ....

now the Welsh Druids (I happen to have known one ) are certainly interesting in that yes there are possible links with sanskrit Via the Gauls , as traces of it can be found in the language , from what I can understand their reverence is for the elemental gods with more akin to the rig vedic gods , ...carying out sacrifices very similar to vedic fire sacrifice , ...and there are many comonly held beleifs , ..we had no problem understanding eachother when discussing many beleifs , ...however personaly I am not entirely convinced that the Mohenja Daro seal is Shiva ? none the less certainly it is a yogi , .....in all my conversations I have tried not to draw conclusions , ...as even Druids here are uncertain as to the true reason or meaning behind Stone Henge , ...it is lost in antiquity , yes the druids used it , .. but its origins and much about it is still a mystery .
there is definitely a LINK between druids and Brahmins of Bharat/India...The similarities I see which I am not posting here as this is off topic to begin with are uncanny.
Bharat/India has lost all its culture and high wisdom due to repeated invasions for 1000 years is what I feel, well my perspective is replacing the sanskrit education with english education by the british has done devastating harm to the very backbone of the country.......As we see now, no significant inventions come from the country now which once was a jewel in terms of knowledge....If you want to know the real Bharat/India, I would say look back!

Some have said Druids descended from the Hindus and it wouldn't surprise me really as their gods and way of life seem similar.
Check carefully, I see a few poppy bulbs in the Cernunnos image. Shiva would not mind that. I would not be surprised to know that the matted hair of Shiva turned into horns with the Celts (Carnuatus - the horned one) or the ends of the crescent on his head (Chandrashekhara).

agreed , ...over years of reading , practicing , and discussing with different faiths or traditions I am perfectly convinced that there are many beleifs and practices shared between seemingly seperate traditions , which only inclines me to beleive many traditions are holders or realisers of the same truth again many if these instances are off topic for this post , but I will reply to you in your thread raised in Buddhism DIR , ...

Sadly it is equaly true that these traditions have been severely dammaged all over the world with by increasing materialism and self centeredness brought about by Kaliyuga , the Idea of moral and religious decline is not common only to Vedic culture , the same is spoken of in some schools of Buddhism , the Tibetan Buddhists allso speak of this as a degenerate age where the true Dharma is hard to find and that people in general have little interest in practice due to the ever increasing distractions provided by the material world , ...
Yes , it is true real knowledge lay deep in the ancient traditions , yet sadly we in Kaliyuga have poor powers of perception and tend to cling to the superficial aspects of religion rather than devoting our efforts to realy understanding the inner workings and the true end goal of each tradition and realy geting to grips with what and why we are practicing .
it is not enough to cling to an outward impression of a religious tradition , one has to be brave enough to realy examine it in depth . we canot just cling to ritual we have to try to understand the purpose behind it , similarly we canot cling to shastra or use superficial knowledge of it to justify our individual beleifs , we must try to understand the context in which it was spoken and the purpose for which it was intended .

similarly , and to return to the topic of the OP , ...Devas in Buddhism and Hinduism , ...yes they are there , and to my mind they are the same Devas yet they are treated differently , ...the understanding of their origin is fast becoming lost , the understanding of the links between Vaisnavism and Buddhism is being lost , Buddhism in the west particularly dismisses these phenomena as cultural acreations (influences aquired due to the close geograpical proximity of Buddhist and Hindu cultures) this is sad as there is great richness of knowledge and wisdom in these aspects of Buddhist culture that are on the verge of dissapering into oblivion as they are being cast aside as superstitious beleifs , ...this is the efect of Kaliyuga , we are too ready to belive in material science above all else , so we feel foolish to trust old traditions and assert that if they can not be materialy proven then they are not worthy of our attention , ...to me this is a gross mistake , and because of this we dissregard too much or relegate ancient wisdom and historical accounts to the shelf marked Mythology .
