Did anyone watch the DeSantis-Newsom debate?

Sadly, no. And I really should take an interest in it. In his court cases it is seriously looking bad for Trump. And there is the possibility that the Supreme Court could say that he is disqualified from the ballot. I should take more notice of who may be running in the next election. I hear of more and more Trump loyalists breaking away every day. He was booed twice recently. Both times at football games where his handlers were not able to control the whole crowd. In Iowa and in very red South Carolina.

True, but it's a reflection of a leading state and governor that is protecting rights and taking steps for the environment a leading state that's the exact opposite. Liberal democracy and freedom vs theocracy and the state as a corporate bully.
Both are trash so either way, Americans lose.

Deficit spending to buy votes, to look important, is not the same as living within your means. Which direction are the people moving, so we can take the word of those, who lived in each place. California is a nice state in terms of natural beauty, but it is bleeding people and business, who are going to state income tax free Florida. Too much nanny state regulation makes it harder to do business in California.
DeSantis has more skill, doing more for less, by encouraging people to do more for themselves, so the costs to live can stay down for all people of Florida. Florida has more adults and less need for overbearing Big Daddy borrowing against the future to buy votes.
Newson does not mind tax and deficit spend to buy votes, even if this harms the future. Newson gets to sit pretty. DeSantis could do that also, the easy way, but, instead he is more about the needs of the citizens of the future, and will belt tighten, today. In Florida, if you are older and you do not have children in school, you do not have to pay the extra property taxes for schools. The school tax is paid by those who use the services. Many elderly are on limited income and this exemption from the school tax shakedown, helps them and prevents too many teachers who cannot be fired for poor performance; more frugal. This is not as easy as borrowing to buy votes, but it manages with less to keep the costs down.

California gets to spend some because we have such powerhouse of an Economy.
Amd way to overlook book bans, legally clamping down on dissenting corporations, abortion ban, and vehemently anti-LGBT.
And, by the way, I make way more money here than I ever did in Indiana and the state of California itself taxes that less than Indiana. That's what a progressive tax system looks like and what it properly should be with the wealthy paying higher rates for their upper income bracket (like we had in the 50s, like all these MAGAs want to go back to).
DeSantis came across as nervous and unsure of himself.
Newsum came across as arrogant and shady.
As far as the actual issues go, hard to tell: through most of the debate everybody was talking at once.
If I had to pick a winner I would have to choose DeSantis just because Newsum spent most of the night dancing around the questions.

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Us Americans need people who are intelligent , and not the poor quality candidates and nominees we see already shoved in our faces that will do nothing for the country but steer it further toward ruin at some point if nothing changes.
I did not watch the debate. I did, however, find the Washington Post review interesting.

Policy, supposedly. I guess these two have been having a bit of a feud, so Fox decided to capitalize on it.

That's possible, a political version of tonight main event heavy weight title bout where the guy in one corner is a governor who hates everything they do while the guy in the other governor of everything they hate.
