I don't know why there has to be this word salad excuse. Why can't people just say "I f***ed up, sorry about that" and move on??????

It is possible that Donald was joking about the Chinese part, but the fact is he has been a consistent denier of climate change. If he feels the Chinese have an unfair advantage he would have it corrected not by the Chinese polluting less, but by allowing the U.S. to pollute more. He has said many times that climate change is a hoax.

That is very Trump-ish. But he does say he is joking, in his wishy-washy way. Abd it does not contain the specific quote.
